The old bike in need of tlc. Bike is based on a 1957 Norton Wideline frame with a 1959 Triumph 6T Thunderbird engine. i can give more nerdy details of how the bike came to be and some techy details if wanted.
Thanks mervyn,I would be proud to own that. I always loved the cafe look and that sir is an iconic shape. What's it like to use though? Cheers, stephen. Edit to add big fingers small phone equals wrong rating posted. Doh
Thank you Tobytyke for your kind words.the old girl is pretty special to me and is in need of a lot of fettling, she has been neglected for too long.I am hoping to get her restored to her former glory and fully roadworthy in time. There are quite a few things both cosmetically and mechanically that need attention.I do not want to lose that original patina she has though.
I last rode it seriously some years ago now.i did quite a few charity runs and classic shows and the Ace Cafe to Brighton run.Opening it up on the A23 after leaving Brighton was something I will never forget. Also the way the cars pulled over in Brighton when they heard me coming up behind them. Tis a bit of a stretch to the clip ons over that huge tank, but who knows-I might ride her again.
I hope you do get to ride her again mate but if not you've still got a bloody gorgeous ornament in a great setting, and you're right she needs that patina
Thankyou.Yes,she is rather nice to look at.I doubt if I will sell it,so it will go to my son and daughter eventually.Neither of my children are interested in bikes, but I have told my son that the bike is a bit special and he has taken that on board.
very nice so jealous once passed up a triton in boxes for £500 didn't have the spare folding at the time damn .............
I have now been whittled down to 4. The 1959 Triton as above. A new build Triton with a 1965 reg.only done about 17 miles. This has a very high spec 750 engine.I have never ridden it. An MH900E with the optional DP Carbon bodywork. SF 848. The streetfighter will probably go within the next couple of months, when I get my 'sensible' bike.As recommended by El Toro.
There is NOTHING sensible about a Scrambler, it's a scamp... people will want to know what you're grinning about...
I love the mh 900e now I would bet everyone would love detailed pics . I'm really loving the air cooled 2valve ducati , I did 5 laps of the ulster gp circuit on Friday on my sc1000s and arrived home buzzing , in fact I'm starting th lust after an 1100 monster or hyper. Until then I will have to make do with the 1965 triton your sending me.
