Hi Guys, I have been scouring the net for a decent 999 S and think I have found one... Well it might not be, so I am posting here to ask for your opinion... If you can spare the time, and words or wisdom are appreciated. So I have my eyes on a Red (with Red Frame Black Swingarm) 2006 999 S Biposto + Monoposto with Subframe, showing 14,400 Kms with the following list of Extras either mounted or as Spares and some are Unused / Not installed... I have been emailing the Seller and he seems pretty genuine and we are to meet at the beginning of August to look over the bike, make a test ride before I commit to placing a Deposit. The Seller has emailed me an "Extras Included in the Sale List" with Prices in Euro's - which include Labour and Set Up Cost... My Questions is - Do these seems like decent, quality parts and ones worth keeping? The Orange Highlighted Parts - are ones that I could live without to negotiate the Price down a little more... Here we go: 2x Front Disc Brakes @ (400eu) (not installed) 1x Rear Disc Brake @ (180eu) (not installed) 1x Seat Complete Ducati Performance (600eu) - I presume this is the Mono Sub Frame & Unit. Slipper Clutch with Large Spider Spring (1000eu) New Set of Disc Clutch (120eu) Clutch Actuator EVR (150eu) New Set of Front Brake Pads (0km), (220eu) Kit Crane Crown and Pinion 520 inches (Competition) (250 eu) Fully Adjustable Footrests Racing (500eu) Quickshifter (350 eu) Termignoni 57mm Full Exhaust System (3500eu) Power Commander Controll Unit - Full Adjustable (500eu) Mapping Unit made on Test Torque to have more torque, not encreasing engine speed.(300eu) Lightened Flywheel Kit (300eu) Kit - All Pulleys Belts Titanium (600eu) Ohlins Kit Springs Front and Pumping (800eu) Ohlins Kit Monoshock Rear (500eu) Rapid Gas Kit (130eu) - I dont even know what this is? Raised Handlebars +2cm fully adjustable (more confortable) (180eu) Brake and Clutch pumps Discacciati (not mounted) (600eu) New Battery (0km) (130eu) New Rear Tyre (20 min on track) (120eu) Carbon Half Open Clutch Cover (80eu) Carbon Exaust Shield (100eu) Track Fairing and Front Subframe (600eu) - Used twice (4 hours) - apparently :-\ TOTAL = 12,000 €uros worth of Extras included in the Sale. MOT last month. + All the original parts... Original Exhaust, Biposto Seat, Rear Brake Light & Indicators. What's the catch? Thanks for reading. Ben
Oh and I will have to purchase a Closed Clutch Cover to get it through the Swiss MOT (MFK) - Any ideas other than this one?
12k eu is about 8 /10k £,, WTF is he asking for the bike,,, tbh , you obv dont neeed any of that stuff,,, eg, a battery just cost me 70£, he is quoting 130e, that is about 100£,, be careful,, ( btw my figs are very rough ) ps,, i would take the two seat unit options., but,, i just bought a used Bi P which cost £250 which is about 320EU not 600 !!
Thanks Cherod, The price he is asking for the Bike and these Part inclusive is £5,600 approx with daily varying exchange rates... Swiss to Euros to £'s... 12,000 €'s today on my computer is approx: £8k He has spent including labour costs / set up etc - his mate has a Garage and he worked there years back... The Battery he quoated @ €130 = £86.00 or thereabouts. Cheers B
I'd go for the 57mm full system. Even if you don't want it you could sell it very easily for quite a lot.
I forgot to mention that on top of the buying price I will have to pay 12% Import duty @ £660. Trailer Hire @ £80. Number Plates £140 minimum - you keep these for life and tansfer them from bikt to bike... MOT Swis MFK £116. Road Engine TAX £166 and a few more smaller fees... total £1162... + Bike = £6,762.00 all in. Thoughts? Still a good deal?
Getting a bit confused here....could be the Staropramen i'm drinking tho, is the bottom line figure you mention for the bike with ALL the extra's ,or just for the bike?...if its for everything then I would snap his hand off.
You'll definitely want to take the Termi. A 999 does not sound like a(n Italian) motorcycle with the original exhaust.
H Hic - burp - hey yellowducmaniac - cheers! The Bike & ALL Extras is agreed at £5'600. I have to pay the exptras to import it ect @ £1,162 Total Cost £6,700. I am due to see the bike 1st Aug. Too busy to get there before hand. But I am convinced it is a good deal if all seems what it is. With Papers, Service Book, blahblah blah - hic
I have the Termi's on my 749s and it rocked espec in London Traffic ! My MTS used to backfire too! Scared the life out of pedestrians... but here in Switzlerland - different story - causes too many avalanches. B
Hi Exige - we've been through the Barter Stages and we've agreed on the 5,6k figure - which I'm feeling more comfortable with after a few replies on here... :Shamefullyembarrased:
All those extras and not the most important as yet For Sale - 999 749 Exact Start - Electric Cable Kits | Ducati Forum
Ah - I wish I could - I'm self employed and have a stack of work to get through. I'm not too concerned as it has been advertised since April and still not been sold - therein is a concern - but the Seller so far has put my mind to rest...
Go for the Termis. If you don't like them, you won't lose all your money as I will take them off your hands and pay you a finder's fee for it, too!
