How Do You Justify Owning A Bike ?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by tricolore, Aug 8, 2014.

  1. I bought my wife's car then when she decided to move back the Prague I had to buy it of her so she could buy one there :( made her happy though

  2. Used to part own these two fine old aeroplanes, when I get the second Ducati I hopefully plan to buy by spring of next year the bikes will still seem remarkably cheap and good value. There is no such thing as a small bill when it comes to vintage aircraft! :p

  3. That's a cracking list of motors there! You're right though, driving a fast car is an adrenaline hit, riding a bike is like the same hit but delivered straight to the heart.

  4. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the garage tearing down the 749... it's a survival thing!

  5. A few years ago my wife came home and asked 'who's visiting'. She had seen two red Ducatis in the drive and assumed that we had a guest. Wrong. I pointed out that I had owned them both for some years so I got away with it.
It was a bit more problematical when I added a Blue Monster and a Yellow 748 to the collection that incles two Velocettes and an Aermacchi.

  6. I gave up a long time ago trying to justify my expenditure on bikes. As long as you have the money and there's bread in the kitchen and milk in the fridge, who cares ? You're a long time dead so get some pleasure out of life.

My wife doesn't hesitate when it comes to shoes or handbags or clothes from Hobbs ! She doesn't even attempt to justify that !

  7. You drink milk ??!!

  8. Had a health scare a while ago that could have ended my motorbike riding. Big wake up call. So now I enjoy riding any one of my bikes whether it be sunshine or rain as one day I may not be able to ride them.
If you can afford it then why do you even need to justify it?

  15. freaky!!!:Wideyed:

  16. At least your reason for being in the woods is burying husbands :Angelic:

  17. Well, as they are no longer around, I assumed you'd dealt with them!

Or the Hills. Don't forget the Hills, Elise.

We usually call himn "Elise". He seems to like that for some reason.

A good point, well made. Elise.

  18. Could have seriously done that to me Ex husband, but not before stringing him up and battering him first.....making sure he's not quite dead, then letting the wild animals have a bit of a chew, then bury him making sure again that he's not quite dead :) :Angelic:

  19. Why justify? Accept. And those of you who need permission, it's easier to seek forgiveness than it for permission in the first place.
