899 Dealers No Longer Taking Orders For New 899s

  1. So are dealers not taking orders now?

  2. Why would Ducati stop selling the 899 and replace it with with anything other than a mid size sports bike ? IMO the SF stands in it's own right between the Monster and the supersport/superbike and although I am sure I will be chastised, I will be at the head of the queue for an 899 based SF although I also believe there is a place for a mental 1299 SF. Have to wait until September unless I hear anything on the grapevine. Andy

  3. It'll be a tweaked 899 like the 1299 is a tweaked 1199.

  5. Yeah I got told the order book was closed as well, so I'm waiting to see what happens in September because I am keen on one!!

  6. It would seem not. The stock they hold is all that is left.

  7. It's got to be a SF 1299 all singing and dancing and priced not to high with bags of character , i'm in:upyeah:

  8. Why would they stop taking orders of the standard bike for an 899r, it's likely to be the bodywork off the 1299 I would say, But an actual launch would suggest some mild engine changes, an Evo perhaps

  9. 927...or given the parentage a D8

  10. true , cant see why ducati would stop making them full stop. cracking sports bikes

  11. I'll be selling my 4 day owned 899 if the get rid of the double swing arm.

Last year dealers were giving 1199s away even though they all denied a new bike on the way. But you couldn't get much off a 899.

This year they giving 899 away .... See a pattern ?

  12. Seems strange unless the stock will last the season easily - but it sounds like a replacement for the 899 for deffo - perhaps they are going back to the belts now I am moving into the EU market soon :)

  13. If they do have stock and dealers are doing decent deals I would seriously consider getting a 899, the Dual SA doesn't bother me at all, a slightly higher spec rear shock and the LCD screen would be superb

  14. v4 super bike??

  15. I reckon it'll be a bodywork change like 1299 , and maybe a bit more grunt. Oh and £1k on the price no doubt.

  16. I think that would replace the 1299 not the 899...

  17. I can't see them significantly updating the 899 for 12/18 months.. They only started flying out of the dealerships 18 months ago. It might get some new bodywork, but in-line with the 1299, I would have thought a more comprehensive update in 12 months time. I hope they don't do a minor update as it could delay the 1199/1299 type overhaul that we all really want.

Either way a new 899 or SF are exiting prospects!

  18. If it is a replacement for the 899 it's odd they only gave it less than two years?
Thought they couldn't build them quick enough at one stage?
