Tuono Aprc Factory

  1. Let us know how you get on with it. When I test rode the 1200 GS my first thought was what a hoot it would be as a sporty naked.
With the right pipe I really like the sound of them too. That deep drone sounds like a Messerschmitt.

  2. Oooohhhh. Definately not.....looks worse than the s1oooR.....if you held a gun to my head,..... The k13ooR....

  3. dont think this pic does it justice.. only from the mcn write up a few weeks back i thought it looked really good and now im not so sure.. they have toned down the flintstone head light surround slightly from previous models but its still the let down area imo

  4. They look a gaudy mess in the metal too, but I dont like graphics, number boards etc on my bikes.

There will be a new Tuono/RSV4 in the next 18 months.

  6. Yeah.... But thats the bit i like about it... Front end looks trick.... But, looks like they just lost interest as they were going to the back... And as in bmw fashion the only thing i think you can change is the tail pipe.... And maybe a few bolts... As i say, its probably my most favorite of all the beemers but i still wouldnt buy one im afraid...

  7. Haven't ridden a K1300. When the first K came out I admired BMW's audacity in sticking all that poke in a naked at a time when the rest of the world was making do with Fazers, Bandits and Speed Triples, but even then it looked a bit of a barge in the metal and though I quite like duo-lever front ends I reckon the K might feel pretty fat and old fashioned now.
I agree about the looks. Though not pretty I like the angry android front end. Its got definite chutzpah. But, yes, it all goes wrong at the back. It looks almost like its been cut and shut at the back of the frame spars. It was all going so well. Forward of the swinging arm pivot is the finished package, all mean and moody technical sophistication but then someone stuck on the back end from a Japanese commuter bike and didn't even bother to disguise the join. Its crying out to be customised..

  8. Got mine. It's a different bike to the original V4 - better riding position, hugely improved torque, comfy seat, ohlins which seem to be set up for UK roads out of the box. Bigger tank, lower pegs, lower bars putting more weight on the forks. Even better electronics ( which is saying something in itself) . Absolute dream bike. I've owned an 1199, 2 RSV4 factories a Tuono V4 and lots of other stuff. This is without doubt the best bike I've had and I'd say quickest to 120, great for roads and reasonably practical. Will take to Brands later this year for a proper try out. image.jpg

Get an integrated rear light.... You wont have to worry about that for another few years...on a sidenote ive just fitted a hm quickshifter to my zed this afternoon.... Fucking how much fun is that!

  10. Yep, nice pipe Gamekeeper. OE can is a bit of an eyesore. That suits the bike to a T. And the tail tidy is just the ticket.
Don't know why but most bikes look better in owner's real life pics than they do in promo shots.

  12. Sounds like you have had issues with Aprilia too. May i ask what they were?

  13. Different experiences for me - I've never had any issue with any of the 4 Aprilias I owned except for one dodgy headlight and even that got replaced FOC outside of the warranty period. My Ducati service experience has been less good.

The 2015 Aprila range is a new bike from tne ground up - different frame, engine, swing arm, rake, light cluster, and electronics etc - the Tuono factory has been a long time coming.

  14. Yep. And the spares will be too.... :) i love mine but the spares side sucks...

  15. Any more pics please gamekeeper?

  16. As 2015 saw a fairly major overhaul I can't imagin some new bikes for a while....

Took out a Factory yesterday and I'm trading in the 899 tomorrow. What a bike! Ducati eat you heart out.

  17. Reading a reaction like that is the very reason I have not test riden one.

  18. Had my rsv4 up for sale.... No takers.... Hadnt ridden it for a while (since the tt).... It was actually dusty! Fitted some rearsets yesterday.... I forgot how amazing it sounds....qs next!

  19. The second hand market seems very quiet at the moment, my 899 is the cheapest on Auto Trader and I've not has a single call in 2 weeks. Thankfully I've got a reasonable trade in deal.

That V4 engin is something else. Having tested various BMW, MV and Ducati's over the past few months, the V4 rips the shit out of all of them. The Tuono also has the benefit of a reasonably comfortable riding position.
