1200 Insurance Time

  1. Yup, its that time again. Where in the UK is everyone going for the best quotes? My renewal was £149, how does that compare?

  2. Just paid £185.00 with Ducati Insurance.
Full no claims (protected) and an OAP.

  3. With Ducati insurance they are looking for £240 for me, i think i will stick with my existing insurer

  4. If that's for fully comp, rip their arm off.
Who was that quote with NSR ?

  5. Sounds amazing to me.

Best I found was Principle and MCE.

  6. MCE - do NOT recommend at all at this stage, despite the keen price.
I have my policy with them this year - £138 fully comp with helmet/leathers, personal injury, courtesy bike - all the bells and whistles. Took out 27th May, put it on the monthly direct debit. They haven't taken any money to date, nor setup the direct debit with my bank still...will be two "missed" payments tomorrow.
I have attempted to contact them a total of 4 times over the last couple of weeks (because I noticed that they hadn't taken anything from my bank) via phone, email and their web contact form and still not had a single reply. Phone was told someone would call me back, they never did so far.
I know what's going to happen, they will eventually figure it out then try to charge me some sort of fee I am certain of it.

  7. If it's that little why not just pay it in full? They charge you interest to split it over the year.

I'd say try WickedQuotes or Adrian Flux who've been good for me, but I'm a long way off being an OAP and the bikes got loads of modifications now.

I've avoided MCE since they lied to me about it being a zero excess, when it was actually £1500 plus excess insurance. Sadly the excess insurance didn't pay out unless your claim was over the excess amount.

  8. Bag of sand for me, 22 with 5 years ncb, renewals not till march.... £149 would be nice :Angelic:

  9. Yeah! You wish ;)

  10. Mmm you should try insurance for a PP and a 998s at Heathrow.
48 years young, no accidents or claims (+30 years), Full NCB, garaged, alarmed etc ..i paidl over a monkey and quotes coming in at well over a Grobbelaar.

  11. Unfortunately at the time it came up I didn't have the funds and needed to keep the bike insured. Not really a big deal it's 20-30 quid over the term.
Doesn't stop them being crap so far though...

  12. My renewal is with Hastings Direct, i was expecting more so cant complain at £149 fully comp i guess!

  13. NSR, is that quote for a DVT ?

  14. my renewal popped through the door on Saturday, aint opened it yet. not in the mood.

  15. Nope, its a 2010 Multi

  16. finm, it will obviously be for a ridiculously high amount. Your present insurers will hope you just take the easy option and renew with them, rather than check around and see how much they are trying to rip you off for as thanks for your year of custom. Then, when you phone up to cancel with them they will have the bloody cheek to quote you a lower price than they gave on the renewal notice. Always nice to tell them to poke it! Jon.
