  7. The problem is a 24 yr old would want babies! I am actually very happy with my 51 plated model, low mileage, regularly serviced, great handling and puts up with me!

  8. I just bought a Pikes Peak to replace my KTM 990 SMT & I also have a Sport 1000S. My renewal was on 1March with Carole Nash & got got a silly quote from Bennetts for both bikes- £186 fully comp inc breakdown protected ncb etc. when docs came through they had both bikes value at £0!!! I called them up to correct this & they wanted another £253!!! Once I complained they listened to it he call & admitted it was their mistake & honoured the original price. Fast forward to now & changing my KTM for the Pukes Peak & they will not insure both bikes on my existing policy- they advised that it would need to be cancelled & now pay an additional £485 plus higher excesses for a new policy with only a £30 refund for my old policy. Looks like they wanted to get the cost of their mistake back & then some more! I called Carole Nash & have gone back to them for £388 for both bikes - I should have stayed with them in the first place as may have only had to pay a small amount due to changing my bike. This was extra cost I could have done without spending. I guess I am lucky to have both bikes but still resent the cost bearing in mind I live in Devon, am 49, only 3 points & never had a claim.

  9. I tried Bennetts, their website didnt even recognise my reg number, bike insurer! Yeah right, they even had my old bike on their site as an 800cc when its really 1000cc..........

  10. ....oops, my 2010 MTS with Bennetts is £97.72, fully comp, 0 years no claims discount, £500 excess and a complimentary 12 month subscription to RIDE magazine!
I'm off to check my policy details......

  11. 0 years no claims discount and £97.72. Something wrong there.....they must have you down on a Vespa 50cc?

  12. just opened mine £570 fully comp for the both with break down, ffs

  13. ;)

  14. I just quick note.

After having my van insured for just under four months I asked for a refund; since the van was sold.
My premium through Adrian Flux was £337.49.
Quidos was the insurer and they give back 40% of the annual fee, if cancelled within 4 months.
So I was expecting £135 to be returned.

    NO

Adrian Flux kept £64.72 of it, giving me just £70.28.
I didn't think it was fair that they should keep nearly 1/2 the refund, so I called to ask why.
I was told it is their policy to charge £25 for a mid term adjustment plus 15% of the annual fee...
It might not be cheaper going direct, however it is when you change your policy!
I asked where this was written down on the documents and they said their website has their T&C's.....

    Lesson learnt.

  15. Does that mean, if you'd just transferred your insurance to another van similar to the one you'd owned, they would have charged you £25 plus 15% ?

  16. On the subject of charges, when i changed to the Multi the policy only had 6 weeks to run and the charge was £28, £25 of which was documentation fee, so the companies are using these charges to bolster their profits, time someone looked into these excessive charges and give us a fair deal, though in rip off Britain i doubt if that will happen! Grrrrrrrr

  17. Called Hastings today to change a couple of wee errors in the policy, only to be told the price was now £125 fully comp, down from £149 just for changing a coupple of incorrect details, happy days! :upyeah::upyeah:

  18. Hastings direct. £119.50. Fully comp. Protected NCD. £250 compulsory excess, 0 voluntary. 50 yrs old. Give them a try finm, you might be pleasantly surprised
