What is 'inexpensive' Greg? - you need to include some kind of guideline or I don't think you will get many takers. I flagged up a 748 for £1700 with blown engine last week but probably gone now.
Well i guess under 2k but dependant on the bike? I would consider something with a blown engine but not sure i would be in it for £1700.
it has gone and at close to the asking price I believe, phone ringing off the hook apparently so there is the start of a benchmark right there. I helped a young owner get £1500 for his damaged 748 a couple of years back.
Yeh appriciate what you are saying but my 748 SPS cost me £2100 in good order with an MOT (yes a few problems), admit you arent going to find too many of those at that price. And my 916 £2850 FSH with less than 10k on the clock (did need a lot of work though). So the are about!
Good luck with your search. I spent a good 6 months trying to find a "bargain" and even old dog 916/996`s with no MOT`s were over £3k. Ended up giving up in the end and buying a half decent one for £4k, but even then had to spend a good £2k on it within the first 12 months.
not disputing that bargains are still out there for the lucky/discerning buyer, but that will never change - It's still good to try and establish some base guidelines for what forms the majority of normal, luck-less sales situations though. either way - Good Luck with the hunt.
