Anyone else planning on going to this? Me and Miss Pineapple are booked up. Four days on track plus hotel and bike carriage for £475, bargain!
Awesome , can't wait to get back to Spanish Tarmac after Jerez! We're looking to share a car if you're interested?
Not booked it yet but will probably be on it with a few guys from the South West area, usually fly into Alicante.
Five nights in Mojacar, then off to Granada for two nights after the event on Sunday night, for a bit of Kulcherrr.
Bank Holiday weekend to deliver the bikes to FE yard, that is going to be a right pain for us trying to get along the South Coast to Sussex and back, oh well four weeks and we will be on track in SUNNY Spain.
A couple of mates and me was on the first ever Almeria / Focused Events outing! Great track Great people Great laugh ...ever get the chance..,. Do it
Having an epic trip. Love the track, very technical and challenging but super satisfying when you hook the lines up. Focused Events are not as well organised as No Limits and the hotel is miles away from the track and very Costa Del English but it does the job. We found a good restaurant just down the road called Aku Aku and have been feasting on steaks and fish since we got here. Great bunch of people as always on these type of events
Tried a new GoPro mounting position today. Stuck it on the tank with a suction cup. Pretty chuffed with the results. Got my laps down to 1min 51.4 today as well. There's a solid couple of seconds for me to gain if I can sort out the corner onto the main straight. I rarely struggle with lines on track but I just can't seem to get this one. I think I'm going into the first part after the chicane too fast and not able to get the bike up quick enough to drive onto the main straight. One of the lads is going to give me a tow tomorrow so hopefully that will help.
Been heading out with Andrew Pitt the supersport rider this morning and can't believe how much of a difference it's made. I'm too slow into the corner and too much throttle too early on the way out. Basically cruising for a bruising if I carried on like that. Ironically I used to ride with more entry speed from watching the Crafer vids when I first started but somehow lost the habit whilst learning the Panigale. I guess because it's stiffer I wasn't feeling it compress and turn better on the overrun and forgot about that part of the corner. It'll be interesting to see if I can gain some time now today. I got all excited earlier thinking I had done a 1.49 but it was actually 3.49 because the gps didn't register the previous lap haha!
It's made a massive difference to my laps in terms of where the limit is. I didn't manage to get any faster lap times but I've now got a shed load of room for error whereas I was always right at the limit before. I suppose it's horses for courses at different circuits but I've been doing so much trail breaking lately that on these very long spanish corners I'm needing throttle before hitting the apex hence needing more lean angle for the same radius corner. The bike turns so much better after releasing the brakes and running more speed into the corner when the chassis is shorter still.
