My 1199 came with a small scratch on the dash which, after a bit of reading, is a common issue and easily done with the weak plastic on the Panigale clocks. So I started searching for screen protectors to fit to avoid this happening again but I couldn't find anything available off the shelf. So I decided to make my own. I bought a small section of 3M car paint protection vinyl and cut it to shape. The first two attempts at fitting didn't go too well, the first I managed to cover in fingerprints and the second I had to re-align and buggered one of the corners up. My thoughts were that the vinyl I used was a little too thick for this application anyway, so I'm going to attempt doing them again with some thinner, more flexible vinyl. Anyway, point to the thread...have I been a bit dim and missed where you can buy these pre-cut? If not, then secondly, if my future attempts go slightly better, would anybody be interested in buying a screen protector from me as I'm sure to have some spare vinyl and now I have my template I can cut a load out pretty quickly. I can't be the only person who would like to have one fitted? Thoughts?
Great idea ! Why not go the extra mile and fit a carbon fibre trim too ? I'm not being sarkie... I did and it looks very integrated. I wish I had added the extra protective surface you're proposing before I'd stuck it in place.
