So had a power run done on the 899 today after i had the rexxer ecu flash done last week aswell as termi end cans and mwr filter... I was hoping for around 140rwhp but left a bit disappointed with 134rwhp ... The dyno guy was well impressed with the fueling though so the rexxer worked ! Obv it was a fairly hot day and still a fresh engine ive also got a -1 front sprocket which the dyno guy says might sap some hp so theyre going to run their demo 899 with the termis upmap and sprint filter and standard gearing !see what that makes
I dont have a before as i had the termis fitted new then replaced the spriny filter with mwr then had the rexxer ecu flash last week
surely the fella did an initial run then theres something to compare?! Otherwise it could have been like that to start with..!
No i just went for a power run all the bits where done before yesterday ! The termis up map and filter where fitted to the bike straight from the crate i then replaced the kit filter with an mwr one and then had the rexxer ecu flash last week at a different place then dyno run yesterday where i got the bike from as they dont do the rexxer flash, end cans should give a few hp difference as you are getting rid of the cats , theyre going to run their demo 899 with the termis up map and filterband compare them as theyre interested in getting the rexxer software in
You can only really compare on the same bike - there can be massive differences between different machines
Maybe but at least itll give us an idea just seems quite a low output when my mates 848evo ran 132 with similar mods and mine was 134
Was this at Laguna in Ashford yesterday? If so we had all three of our race bikes done to get a comparison. I also had my RC8 done as I've never bothered with the dyno in the past. If my bikes feel right to ride I don't see the point.
CJS did my evo. Also did the timing. First run with DO flash (Akros and better filters) 131. End of a days dyno 139.
Our three race 899s were all within 1bhp of each other. Stock bikes with the termis, air filter and up maps. They were done on the Laguna dyno yesterday. Mine was 143 as was Murray's with Luke's coming in at 142. The curves were all different though. I'm always sceptical of dyno's as things can vary so much. For example mine got pulled from Parc Ferme for the dyno at Donington WSBK and made 138. I've changed nothing since then except put a few miles on it and it's making 5bhp more? @smorgan46 Maybe yours will improve as it loosens up a bit. I know mine felt quite tight to ride to start with.
To be honest when I first rode mine I wasn't overly impressed. Power output aside I have really grown to like it. I think it's a great bike. I can't comment on the stock suspension but with the Ohlins it handles like it's on rails and as long as I keep it on the boil it goes like fook. I'd have one for the road no problem and as far as lap times go I've never been quicker. Just need to start pushing it now to see what the bike and myself are really capable of but that's mostly a mental issue.
oh def its an awesome bike and even with stock suspension tweaked for me it handles better then anything ive had , its def got some oomph and im well happy with the ecu flash as it feels far more responsive and happier to rev just a bit disappointed in the power output... The dyno guy was well impressed with the fueling line so thats something so just got to wait to test their demo one on the dyno see how it stacks up compared to mine
