Ir was the Swiss national holiday yesterday. On a Saturday. And the Swiss don't make up holidays that happen to fall on weekends (which can give you a very short Xmas and New Year some years). After a month of drought, it rained much of the day. Meant to be sunny this week, though.
due to a dilemma, it's now noon, and I still haven't had breakfast - I've got to decide whether to do the washing up, or eat my bacon, egg and beans out of a cup with a knife
Just been for a ride down to Smart Riders in Christchurch to pick up my repaired Daytona boots, to find a polite message in the window saying they are closed as they are off to Thruxton, doh, thats what I should be doing
Well seeing as I was "Billy No Mates" today, with friends either working or doing stuff with other halves, I eventually took the Scrambler out for a blast for a few hours. I tend to use the Scrambler when I'm on my own and the Pani when out with mates. Anyway I ended up doing around 100 miles and stopped off for a latte at Squires during my run, where it attracted a heap of attention . Anyway at some point heading to Sherburn some dozy bint tried to wipe me out and T bone me by coming out of a side road without looking. Luckily enough the Scrambler (and me, of course) was nimble enough to be flicked around the front of her car and she missed. If I'd been on the Pani I'm not sure I'd have been able to do that. That said, if I'd been on the Pani I'd have got to that point in my travels 15 minutes earlier and would have missed the dozy cow completely.
I've just read a report that cardboard packaging made from recycled newsprint can cause cancer. I'm really worried now, as for years I've been buying my cigarettes packaged in this toxic stuff.
I joined my IAM group for a ride out today. Chedder to Friar Tuck cafe in Amesbury breakfast then back roads to Shaftesbury, petrol stop, then tea at the Haynes museum at Sparkford. Met Melvin there and we took ourselves home. Probably around 140/150miles. Diversion given a good clean and now just finished having a BBQ.
Had a stonking weekend in South Wales, catching up with lots of friends that I haven't seen for years,or before my treatment started,I've come back feeling so happy and optimistic about everything....so much in fact.....that I'm just waiting for the shit to hit me,probably cos I've always looked on the black side of things!
