If I could have a pick I would like to have single side swing-arm, öhlins all around and the akrapovic full system (but I would settle for termis). I currently have enough power for the roads I ride.
That's pretty much how Ducati define a factory though; very few of their own components are made in house (most are made externally and finished in house, such as heads, engine cases, etc, or simply bought in completed such as wheels, brakes, etc) and they are only really assembled at the "factory". Besides, Ducati refer to it as their "factory in Brazil" so I'm using that too! It's only there to avoid the 200% import tax on foreign vehicles anyway BTW, do you know Yrio from Ducati Club Sao Paolo?
Could we just be missing the obvious ? Ducati recently announced the best ever half year sales figures so could it just be that the 2015 allocation has been sold out ? Andy
Of course we could yes, and I agree. I checked back in and the thread had gone a bit off the rails. One dealer told me that he was hoping that after the August holiday they would divert a production line towards the 899, he said he can get tons of Diavel so perhaps they could close the order book on them and get some 899's made but he just wasn't sure. I'm not someone who believes it's all of a sudden going to have Ohlins this and that, my prediction is that if it's changed it will be: -1299 body work -Perhaps bigger valves (inline with the kinda head changes the 848 got) to give maybe 2-3hp -Auto Blipper -Cornering ABS -Mild rear shock revalve/linkage change.
They're not going to get rid of the 899 or something similar if it's selling which it appears it is. So they are going to tweak it in some form, hence the currently closed order book. At some stage they'll produce a new Streetfighter. At some stage, they'll do a big V4 but it seems like a big project for a small company which has barely digested the Panigale. Wouldn't be surprised if they launched two new bikes - the 899 replacement and its Streetfighter brother.
Yes, and because of that we can buy a 1199 for £13.300 here. No, I dont know any one from Ducati São Paulo.
Seeing as you are a dab hand at builds i.e KTM why not build your own SF 1199 I am hoping it will be a 1299 SF too as my 848 SF and Evo now feel slightly under powered but still good fun to ride.
