  3. Hi Darren,

You will need to fit a single pickup.
You can use a 1.5m or a 16m ecu taking the temp reading from the H cylinder via a ssie rocker cover fitted with stat sensor.
st2, 620 750 900 ss monster throttle bodies, make sure they have green type injectors.
using a 16m will be easy as all you need is a st2 chip (which i have) and use a pc3 or get the chip flashed to suite.
The SSie airbox will fit, I have rubbers if you need them.

    ETC
You can do all this for alot less than a set of FCR's :upyeah:

Maybe start a new thread save highjacking this one!!

  6. Yes i agree, but whilst the tank looks the same it is a different animal, for a start there is no access through the top of the tank, that gives the first big expense as tanks are not cheap these days, as for big throttle bores i found more power on a pair of 39 fcr's when placed back to back with 41's, about 2-3 hp. (102 at the wheel) this was on long manifolds and i think it may not be the case on short manifolds, however as i have said short manifolds present there own set of problems that only cubic money can fix. (or a hacksaw).
I have found the fuel metering on the fcr setup about 99%, it does have some foibles but thats carbs for you, as for fuel consumption, absolutely brilliant.
i think what simon was originaly looking for was a simple bolt on to pep an already modified engine.

  7. Spike -

We are not about to fit ANY IE bodywork, tank included - to my carby. I would rather push drawing pins into my bellend. The statement is that the bottom of the tank is the same, therefore swapping gubbins/hi-pressure pump etc from an IE to a carby tank would be simples.

Im not after fuel efficiency, more after something that works and keeps working, like my car? Turn the key, it goes, keeps going and I dont have to waste valuable spare daylight faffing with it.

We were not for one second suggesting that Simon should fit injection onto HIS bike? I raised the question about fitting it onto MY bike? Read previous posts before you post. :upyeah:

  8. Fitted the ST3 fuel pump (With the filter mesh off the carby pump) in my carb tank then used an external regulator from a monster and it's been fine.

  9. Oh, just stick some ST2 barrels on it with some 94mm pistons out of the later 2V 1000's (the gudgeon pin hole offset means they sit approx 2mm lower in the barrel and drop compression to c8:1), and stick a turbo on the thing boosting at 1 bar -

There, that'll keep most happily scribbling calcs and changing plans until early in the morning

  10. Just to add the ssie tank has access same as carby tank.

  11. Indeed. How the hell would you get in there otherwise??

  12. Post above about cutting the tank etc

  13. I was agreeing with you, you goon!

  14. Ha Ha :upyeah:

    Option for engine..
    1997/98 ST2 bottom end
    The primery is 1,83-1
use's high output genny (same as 916sps)

  15. Its got out of hand here
we are at cross purposes as i am just fiddling with monsters at the mo, sorry for the confusion.
so ignore what i said in the first comment. as for the rest i am sticking to it, there is no faffing if you set them up and leave them.

if the fuel infection is such a great idea why do the racers take a backward step and junk it in favour of carbs.

  16. So steve if 128bhp is the target you have got my attention, what sort of spec motor are you running to go for this?
are you sticking with the std layout? or is it all secret?

  17. Spike - with all respect, shut up and fk off.

I am not going racing, have already made it clear all I want is a reliable bike with less maintenance & am not interested in huge horsepower gains and still you are spouting crap about horsepower & racing etc?

    No need.

    Thankyou.

  18. 128 is a piss take!

But i would like 916sps heads and cams, H/C pistons etc......... But lack of pennys now with finding parts for my 851, I still need a few bits but need to wait untill i have the funds.
The 944 4v runs a treat which is a bonus

  19. NOW NOW, dont get your knickers in a twist, sit down and relax a while. buy a honda!

  20. Pablo pirate is already at 128 so its not that much of a piss take. in an earlier post you mention an sps alternator, are these different and in what way?
