Today me and a few friends had a ride around Yorkshire and its the first time on my 1198 (apart from a short ride last week!) with a group and covering a decent mileage. We went to Goathland, Whitby and Helmsley and covered around 200miles. Also first time I rode with the termi baffles removed and not sure whether it is awesome or just a little loud!. I was surprised at the comfort as I got back and nothing really ached and the only thing noticed was a tendancy to kick me out of the seat when the roads got bad. Liked the power although I wasnt really going for it and loved the brakes as they are on par with my R1 which where great. Anyway I will try and post a few pics.
When you say kicked you out of the seat are you speaking about hitting pot holes, rought tarmac etc things like that ..?
I like this pic. Little old-fashioned corner shop meets hi-tech, hi-performance superbike. Heh. Top left-hand corner - "play here". Oh yeah, I'll say  "Supermodel, with her rather plain friend in the background." (Sorry, that was elitist of me  ) Great pics
Yes mate, I think the compression may be a little hard for my weight (or preload) so will have a play. Having said that this is a sports bike not a tourer !
Me too. Although I have both a Kawasaki and HRC fleece in the wardrobe - both bought for me I might add.
I've found the exact same thing myself going from a Monster S4 to a 1098s, even though I'm only 13ish stones I get bumped up out of the seat over bumps and rough roads too, might need to soften my rear Ohlins a little see if it helps. Stu
I found I was getting a smacked arse on my 848. Setup the preload for my weight in riding kit and everything is now lovely. There's always going to be the odd bump that will launch you but generally it should be reasonably smooth.
