1200 Exhaust Valve Eliminator

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by MotoNik, Aug 14, 2015.

  1. No and it would appear that most who have not had the valve illiminated in the ECU use a dead weight attached directly to the little motor to fool it. Mine came with the Leo Vince decat pipe work and has been faultless. Andy

  2. Just took an idea from AndyW and jammed the valve open and a spring on the cable so it fools the ecu into thinking the valve is working, doing the job at the mo :)

  3. I just did my 1098. Removed the cables and cable holder from the little motor and fixed a little alloy bar on the motor. It's transformed the low rev running smooth as silk now

  4. Yeah I have. Left everything in situ and just fitted the eliminator because the fault light kept coming up. Fitted it, forgot about it and faultless ever since.

  5. Fitted that bit yesterday to my 848. Have a look at the last post on my blog below for pictures and information.

  6. Mine is still sitting in its bag under my pillion sit. Not got round to doing it yet. Where on the bike is the connector anyway?

  7. I bought one for my 2011s but had CJS sort things before I fitted it,consequently it's not been on the bike.
You can have it for £25 inc postage if you want it.
Just pm me if your interested

  8. Had my Monster 1100 evo remapped by Cornerspeed Ducati (Rexxer remap). Got rid of the servomotor under the seat (now room for a puncture repair kit) and the lambda sensors. Runs much smoother at low revs and got a couple more hp.

  9. Sounds like a worthwhile mod - presumably I can ditch the servo and cables?

    cheers,

  11. Great Blog that Bob, really useful! :upyeah:

  12. How funny (referring to your blog). It was my Birthday when I ordered mine and I too got the Happy Birthday note from the seller in the US. Made my day too but I did then start looking in bushes near the house. Stranger Danger!!!

  13. Im quite handy with most things but whet exactly do you have to do to the bike fitting this thing ?

  14. I still haven't done it. A pic of the connectors location would help but I could just follow the wire. I tried desperately to undo the 2 screws holding the plate in the exhaust (whilst fitting new rubber). Would not budge a bit. Could do with a decat but funds wont allow.

  15. The two screws in the exhaust are tack welded to stop them vibrating loose

You wont be able to remove them unless you grind off the welds first

  16. The one thing they actually do properly and we all want to off.

  17. I bought one last week and its my birthdsy yesterday and got a Happy birthday message also, I dont even know how they knew!

Looking to fit tomorrow and I am very bad at anything mechanical, wish me luck. Need doing before I head down to the Motogp
