@Chris.King1 - thanks a lot for the info, appreciated! Wanna do something similar myself. Was that a race nose that you cut a hole out of or some custom jobbie? Cheers. @Nathanhu - ah sorry maybe I f*cked up. I'll give him a shout and ask him to contact you via this place.
My Non standard 999S Bespoke fairing 23L kamna carbon fibre fuel tank/TWM billet fuel cap termignoni exhaust zetasassi rearsets Gilles xtreme levers alcantera covered seat various carbon fibre Full Ohlins as standard Just purchaced MPL slipper clutch,to be fitted when I get a spare Saturday.
That fairing style looks very familiar. Does it have plastic impregnated with the red colour? Handy for a track fairing, saves on respray costs from spills, plus the thing is light as a feather compared to standard.
Hi Loz...Its GRP and from what I can gather it came in white originally and was sprayed red,i have seen similar plastic track/race fairings but nothing exactly the same as this in GRP,and to be honest although it is lighter in weight than the stock fairing its only marginally so. I liked the look of it without the side aerofoils ,a bit different, i managed to get hold of the tank (which IS significantly lighter than the stock tank) on a trip to Germany and had it sprayed to match...I love it.
That's a different set from mine, but at first glance, they are very similar! I like the one I have, especially the lightness but I do like the aerofoils and other styling differences of the original. What I don't like about the original is the lack of a belly section, and instead, a couple of Allen bolts keeping the two halves from flying apart I much prefer the belly section and the security of three Dzus either side keeping it all together.
My 999s mono nero is sporting some cheap fairings from Hong Kong (the originals are tucked away in the loft ) and a carbon fibre tailpiece. Other mods include: MPL Slipper Clutch HM QuickShifter, race shift Corse Dynamics 30mm offset triples ECU re-mapped by CJS Racing ProTwins race seat Zero Gravity screen
I have also got the r1 throttle twist grip but yet to fit it. Any feed back on others that have the same mod? Cable adjustment etc?
User Jyrki said here Finally dumped it. - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum that it's quicker but not exactly quick-action, so err a bit quicker I guess?? For the 13 quid it costs to try one it's gotta be worth a go especially if you don't want ultra quick I guess. Have thought about trying it myself.
Exceptionally good mod for the money, or for any money for that matter. I have to wonder, what was Ducati thinking when they didn't stick an R1 throttle tube on at the factory - it is, quite literally a no-brainer, all-win, no-downside choice
Thanks guys, I actually had a 996 throttle fitted to my last 999 track bike, but needed a return spring and single cable conversion
No,Still got them as spares...these Gilles items came up for not much more than I paid for the chinks so I got 'em cos they look radically different.
Not sure how to post a link (gonna have to learn ) ,but if you go on Gilles website you will find them easy enough ,i got them second -hand from the bay for a reasonable price...think they are about £120 each new!...
Next question/ issue... I have a rear Marchesini, (magnesium wide spoke) and the rear sprocket carrier rubbers are shot, but different to the standard carrier, any tips on replacements? Also the same problem with rear sprockets as the are different from standard.. Should have checked before ordering new renthals ..doh!
