Hi All This maybe a bit of a obvious thread but can you knowledgeable guys/girls humour me as im a bit of a ducati virgin. I've been playing with cars for years so i know that gains can be expected etc however i have a few simple questions. Are they really worth the ££££ The race cans say they come with a map, i assume this will mean a shop would have to install them? I've just bought a M821 and thinking if i am going to get one then it will be after that so i at least notice the difference. Where is best to buy, anyone have places in the UK that offer them at good prices. Im going to the bike show in Nov, has anyone seen discounted ones there? Thanks in advance.
Hi t@z I've always had Termis put on my Ducatis, but mainly for aesthetics and sound. If you are asking are they worth it for a performance point of view, then probably not unless you are going for a full performance tune-up and want the bike to breath better. However, if you want to rumble down the road enveloped in the sound of thunder, then yes. My latest bike - a Monster 1200s Stripe - sounds incredible with the baffles out. It snarles, barks and pops just like a monster should. The map comes as a data stick. For my Panigale, I fitted the Termis and uploaded the map myself (very simple), so I cant think the monster will be any different. The data stick overwrites the standard map and 'Racing' will be displayed on the dash during start-up. Price-wise, they all seem to be the same no matter where yo ubuy them. The best deals seem to be negotiated with the dealers during the purchase of the bike. Sorry, cant comment on the show in Nov.
Thank you, i did decide to go with it in the end. Got some discount like you said have more power when buying a bike. So am i so assume by this stick thing that the dealer should give me a data stick when the give me the old stock exhaust?
PS: termis with cat standard map, with no cat Racing map, full system Racing evo map if don't get wrong!
Thanks, cant wait to get it now!! I got the racing cans, no cats around here :Hilarious: dont think they do a full system for the 821. Well it will probably be overkill for my use
I think they do the full, and yes i think also its overkill...now baffles out and unleash that lovely sound ;-)
