Did a quick search and found nothing relating to this. The high beams produce a round spot of light surrounded by a very dark circle. Has anybody else noticed this? This is not the spectacular high beam I was expecting from a powerful LED,
I noticed this today after I adjusted the light down to its lowest setting to stop blinding oncoming traffic on low and lighting the sky when on High I notice the spot and ring - but still feel its better than lights I have had on any other bike.
Precisely, the beam is directed too far down the road, it is actually a very bright center spot on high. Cornering lights are a little distracting at first, on a tight dark road. still glad to have them though.
Clockwise - doing up You need to turn it a lot.. or I did - it was about 10 turns (40 1/4 turns of the ratchet) - I wound mine down as far as it could go - but maybe you do not need to go that far. I did it in 2 steps over 2 days.
For this reason I have the additional spot lights as they bridge the gap nicely so I get a continuous stream of light from the bike to the far distance, also nice amount of light off to the hedges.
I noticed my lights were far too high, especially on Urban setting when the stock preload is low. I was getting flashed by about 30% of other drivers. It was reflecting off the reflective strips on lorry drivers hi viz jackets. I took mine to an MOT tester and he confirmed the light was too high. We screwed the adjuster fully in to get it better aligned. So if you want to get an approx. setting before 1st mot, just screw it in until it stops. I have no problem seeing the road, Urban or any other setting. The adjuster is the chrome headed bolt (13mm or 1/2" socket I think) under the centre of the headlamp unit. It faces the ground. To see it and access it properly, take off the semi circular black plastic shield between the fork legs under the fairing, it's only 3 hex screws.
