I'm after a qa throttle for my 749s race bike. At full throttle the hand piston is horrible! Any recommendations? I've heard that a r1 throttle works, is this true?
I'll see if i can remember my fractions! one the 848 the std turn is 1/6 R1 will get to 1/5 and go in. R6 (of the correct vintage) will get you 1/4. Which is good enough IMO. BUT you do need to do a bit of dremel work on the housing and slack the cable right off. I believe the 749/999 has the same housing.
If you have used a real QA, the R1 ones are pants in comparison. Dig deep in the wallet and get an Accosato QA. Much the same as the Corse item. Remember to take spare cables and housing connectors/adj, as they are different to Ducati ones and will get you going again if you damage them after a spill.
Tried the R6 one and didn't notice the difference, so splashed out on the Accossato which was nicely made and did the job
