Hi all, Just rolling in on a Gsxr, it was that or the Er5. Either will probably get me lynched here, so here's hoping I get a 748 soon! I have arranged to see one at a local dealer this week, if it's the one for me then great, if not I keep looking. My last 4 bikes have been gixxers, previous to that zx6r, FZR 600 and zxr 750, really feeling the need for a change now as the gixxers are leaving me cold. I have settled (hopefully) on the 748, because I am old enough to remember the 916 launch and how much I loved the look, and I am pretty sure that I don't need anything more powerful, and it should be about perfect for Knockhill. I may be in for a rude awakening on Wednesday, I will just have to wait and see. All the best, Sye
Hi Sye, the owner of Knockhill has a couple of Ducati 1098's - hope the search doesn't take too long, but winter bargains are not too far away!
Thanks folks, I have high hopes for the one I am due to see this week. I thought about posting a link to get opinions but there has been a bit of interest in it and I would a least like a bite at it!
Worth asking anyway - if any one gazumps you we'll get @Ducbird and @JenC to cut their balls off It is good to get opinions of those on here that know the model in depth (not me) Alternatively wait for someone who sees this who might be kind enough to PM you and help privately
Hello and welcome into the mad house we will soon warm you up from the cold Make sure it's red that's the warmest and fastest colour and watch out for the locals They say it's me but don't believe them :Bag:
hello and welcome dude.. excellent choice the old 748.. mines the same year as the one in ya link. have had it for a good few years (although it was off the rd for a lil while) but i love it to bits.. its never really given me too much grief and i used to treat her quite badly! the rectifier, tps and a duff fuse have been the only probs i think that weren't down to neglect! good luck with ya search mate
This is going to sound bizarre, but it's too good for my needs! I need something to use all year round, this deserves way more than that. It has clearly been pampered, lots of main dealer history, tracker fitted ect. Utterly standard never had cans or been chipped as far as I could see. I thought I had found a scratch on the tail unit but it was just a missed bit if polish. If I wanted one as a second bike this would be perfect.
