Morning folks! First post having just joined. After 30 years with Kawasaki (ZZR12 currently) I am seriously considering leaving the land of the rising sun for the sexy Italian! I'm planning on going to the bike show in November to get the gen on the 2016 model but wondered if anyone "in the know" knew what the spec upgrades may be? Don't fancy being the guinea pig tester for the 2015 model hence the hold off. Hopefully the "niggles" of the new model are ironed out and it's motorcycle heaven to look forward to!
Ayup pal, I was going to wait to see if its being updated in November but was told NO, tbh I don't agree with manufactures updating the model every yr it kills resale, BMW do it and it does knock the arse out of 14yr bikes against buying a 15 .
Fare point, tbh I'd be happy if no upgrade but just sorted "niggles" of current one. Some folks may slag Japanese bikes but one thing is they are super reliable. Would kind of stick a bit in my throat paying upwards of £16k for a bike for it still to have issues. Some may say it's Italian charm I'd say shouldn't be happening in the day and age! Still an excuse for a wee away day to the bike show can never be a bad thing!
I'm now in the same ball park, waiting till the year 2016. As some of the bikes been sold currently are been registered (somehow) as 2016 on the V5's. I would hope for an amended dash-scratch issue & fitment of panels & seat to be symmetrical too the eye. I see older multistrada's about in warwickshire & they look well smart.
Hmm wow V5C registered as 2016 how is that even possible! now need to suss a way of identifying 16 v 15 wouldn't fancy thinking I was getting next year's bike and ending up with the niggles of this year's "tester bikes" just wish they weren't so dam expensive still if ya gotta have one what can you do!!!

Justbuyitnow. 'niggles' aside (brake reservoir leak & cracked pannier lug) shes allgood. Came here from a Kwacka Versys 1000. Took a short recalibration to a big thumper again.....last had a Tuono V2win two&ahalf years back. Youll spend a lot oftime just standing looking at ittoo......about30 minutes every day. And you forget what youwentinto the garage for......:Wideyed:
Sadly finances dictate next year and being a Scotsman I hate parting with money unless I can get a deal won't be easy as only one dealer in Glasgow up in Jok land but will see what I can suss. Done loads of reading on the DVT so know what I'm getting into just hope the 2016 model has all the minor irritations of the 2015 sorted. Going to NEC so I can make "brum brum" noises on the stand bike! I forget most days what I go in the garage for anyway!
'Next year' always brings new models and so there will be other alternatives to test ride and consider, not least the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT and maybe a DVT Diavel
I try to work on the principle that you buy now for what works for you and enjoy it - otherwise we'd never go buy computers, cameras, cars, bikes… …however, having never been paid by Ducati for all the R&D work I and other early customers did for them on the 2010 Multistrada, this time I'm playing the patience game and will be waiting to see what tweaks/fixes they roll in over the winter. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".
