Misano motoGP .......... spoiler!

  1. If he did U- turn, where would that leave Hayden, who has signed for another year I believe, and Dovi?

  2. Factory yamaha ride?

  3. Possibly. I can't see it happening though. I think VR wants to improve things as much as he can before he goes, so he can say something was achieved in his time there.

  4. Rossi wont U-turn on the Yamaha contract, but he'll be able to hold his head up if this level of improvement continues. One race still doesn't make a season. In normal conditions he would still have been behind Stoner and Pedrosa as the Honda is still a superior machine at the moment. If Spies had any confidence left he would have finished higher as well. However, it was was still a great result and I think if Hayden's hand wasnt still broken he would have been top five, possibly even a podium. The next two races will show where they are

  5. Good point matt. But what if the results improve. If you read stuff on twitter which his crew post up
They were surprised by sudden move forward up the field.
As bradders posted... Vr looked like he was at one with the duke from start to finish.

  6. Would not be surprised to see him do a u turn

Competitive bike + an extra 8 million euro a year will see him turn his back on Yamaha. Just like he did with Michelin.

We will get some blurb about being patriotic, but we know it's his bank account he cares for most

  7. He sticks his well earned back into the sport he loves though Derek! Did you know he bankrolls speed master CRT moto2 moto3 teams ?

Beats Taking it with him to down under and turning his back on the sport which made him rich  But thats ok in your biased eyes

  8. Well said.

  9. Apart also from the support he offers his home town, scholarships to local kids, PR support to bring in cash for others..list goes on. One of the reasons he is literally a god in his home town

  10. He did look happier on the bike. Bradel seemed to be giving it his all to try an pass him, but VR never looked pressured. I hope this is the turning point we've all been waiting for.

What I need to see is how a fit Hayden does. This will show if the bike has improved for both riders, or has just been altered to suit VR. We'll then know if whoever's on it next season will be able to ride it or ifthey'll have to start again!

  11. i don't think JL changed the yam .... so a VR bike should suit many riders... there are not many who ride around problems...

ps : would have loved to see DPedr chse through the pack! :)

    grtz

  12. It's a big shame this year with all the other Duke riders are injured and not 100% fit.
Look how well Pedders is going now, Even beating Stoner unlike last year when He was injured.

But what Vale will leave is a rider freindly bike any top racer can ride and that can only be a good thing, Which now i can see why so many riders wanted the ducati rides.
Maybe they knew something was about to happen which we fans had to wait for.

  13. The one thing he doesn't need is money. What he needs and wants is to win. He wants to be the best ever and doesn't want to be No 2 to Ago in the stats. Its nice to know that he gives something back, that's just a mark of the man. I'm sure others do the same, but they just don't advertise it.

  14. ....and yet he left Yamaha because he was getting a pay cut and Ducati would pay him silly money

    Some race lap times

    VR GP12 Misano 1.34.8
CS GP10 Misano 1.33.9 with the dodgy front end, carbon chassis, and 200cc less

Lots of other variables I know, but that is almost 1sec!

  15. I recon he thought 'if Casey can win on it, so can I' I don't think he realised just what kind of animal the big red machine actually was. He may have said he was leaving Yam for the money, but I fear that's just a little transparent. It remains true that Dorna and MotoGP need a competitive Rossi to take it to LR, DP and MM

  16. If i was offered less than Jorge in Vales position i would have also been rightly p!ssed off. This does not mean that money is all he cares about but rather he has pride. It was an insult that demanded a response.
Your hatred of Valentino is getting tedious and transparent.
Your inclusion of such a small sample of race data demonstrates either a cynical attempt to manipulate statistics or a lack of understanding of the value of them.

  17. YAWN

Turning his back on the sport that made him rich.

  18. I'm interested in your view behind this comment - does Casey owe MotoGP something?

  19. Here we go!! :upyeah:
Did i mention a name ? We don't have CS VR debates on here do we Tony ? lol
Just tell that Jock Derek to stop winding folks up!

  20. I'm not Rossi's greatest fan but I think we need to give him credit for his 2nd place at Misano.
Even with the inclusion of Pedrosa and Casey he would still have been no worse than fourth, in front of one factory yam, one factory Duke, and two satelite yams which are damn close to factory .
Now that was one celebration from him that I can actually appreciate, he'd earned it and you could see what it meant. I've never been a fan of his cheesy celebrations before because it always seemed a case of this is easy (right bike) lets big myself up . But I was quite impressed.
    Now roll on the results.
