Hi, Just some info which my be interesting for some... I had my cams dialled in on my 1098s to Superstock spec i.e more midrange. Here's my bike next to a similar spec 1199 i.e with Termi's etc on the same dyno. 32bhp more at 7700rpm.... I'm mainly a fast road rider and rarely use the last 1000 rpm, so I know which I prefer! Won't stop me trying 848 velocity stacks which are 20mm shorter or a mix of 1 x 1098 velocity stack and 1 x 848 Velocity stack to get that extra 10bhp top end. Jamie
Nice. Since reading the early reports on the 1199 I decided if I had the money for one I'd buy a 1098R for exactly the reason your showing. Twins for me are about mid range stomp not screaming top end.
Hi, Standard Engine, Full 70mm Termi, MWR Airfilters, Bazzaz Fuelling Module. Paul at Snells did the cam timing work. Starts on the button. J
Not really a "direct" comparison but interesting nethertheless, this is "King of the tuners" Swedish Tom's hybrid compared to a fully mapped 1198 with full system followed by the hybrid V's a 1299 :Wideyed: The hybrid consists of, -1098R blocks -1098R crank -1098R rods -1098R cams -1198 Heads modified -1198 gearbox -Pistal 1098RS pistons (renders just shy of 13:1 with 1198 chambers) And of course it's shoved in a 996
Now I want a 1299. If it handles like an 899 and gives the power of an 1098R and almost matches the torque, I want it!!
Hi Jamie, I have a 1098s that fairly std and interested in tuning it for max HP/torque. The above stacks sound brill if they give another 10bhp?.
