No I didn't get my wrist/hand/operation as my "chest infection" wouldn't allow it. I've got under 50% lung capacity and it's been getting worse. I'm on antibiotics for a bactrial infection of the blood. Samples of phlegm from my lungs have been sent everywhere trying to find the source. The team then had a new overview look back to hour 1 and with other experts. Their thoughts are perhaps this is a lung bleed caused by the ribs. This has lead to a lumbar punch being ordered. A most unusual and uniquely painful operation. The result was excellent. 650ml of yellow liquid was removed tonight with a further 1000 to 1500ml over the weekend. Breathing has immediately improved.
Shit, hope they get to the bottom of it soon mate. Doesn't sound pleasant at all. Bloody hospitals, not good places to be if you're poorly. Take care, looking forward to some positive news soon.
Good luck fella , I appreciate that I'm unknown to yourself but am sincere with the sentiment as we are all only a moment away from this. Hit a tree on my wr450 in third at full chat , nothing like yours but got a trip in a helicopter gws
I had to hold my then 2 y.o. son down for a lumbar puncture @AirCon, so I have seen how very painful it is indeed, so my greatest sympathies but at least it has lead to an improvement . Keep on concentrating on recovering, positive thinking and I hope you'll soon be up and about .
Paul, I know this seems interminable but sadly is not uncommon for people like you who have had major trauma. Stick with it and I know everyone on here wishes you the speediest of recoveries. Andy
You are most welcome PAUL KING (aka @AirCon ) Bed 1 Floor 9 Major Trauma ward St. Mary PADDINGTON The visiting hours are 3pm it 7pm And it's Nottinghill carnival weekend
Last night I had another 500ml of Paul gravy removed then the pipe clamped back up. Feeling even better. The downside is that the lungs are demanding that I cough more deeply to clear them. I've now found out EXACTLY which front ribs have broken.
Gosh. Better keep taking those tablets then. Are the docs just hoping the ribs and lungs will sort themselves out?
I am so sorry, I am going nowhere this weekend. I have a sinus infection and have to regularly drain some of the most disgusting stuff I have ever seen. Gross, pukey gross. I really don't think it is responsible of me to share this kind of thing with anyone, let alone lazy people who are flopping around on hospital beds. Sorry, Paul
