It's not a CS/VR debate, I'm just asking if you think Casey owes MotoGP something. Turning his back on the sport that made him rich? I think we all know Casey is a racer and he only ever set out to win, not to earn cash. If he was about money he'd be staying. Honda offered him a lot of money to stay... So he turned up, he raced, he won two titles, doesn't like all the other BS that goes on so he's off to spend more time with the family etc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that yet you say he's turning his back on the sport that made him rich like he owes MotoGP something? I don't get it.
It's funny isn't it? In just about any other walk of life, if you decide on a career change it's fine. Get bored of doing something, do something else. If you're a successful bike racer and decide to do something else, it's suddenly "You bastard! You've stabbed us all in the back!". For God's sake. Cut the guy some slack. He doesn't owe us anything. If you're that bothered about it, become a GP God yourself. Simples.
Hahaha, 'Derek started it' = genius  Shouldn't you be in bed Steve? I have my first meeting of the morning shortly...
Who really cares Mate Racing will carry on with or without Him.... So who will be the next Aussie hope ? Any up and coming fast guys in the national series ? We need another Bayliss
you serious about tench fishing ? I was a member of the south cerney club, best tench waters in the uk imho.
No. Failing to attract tench when I was 14, by about 16 I'd already given it up as a bad job. I failed to attract chub, barbel, roach, perch and carp also. Anyway, fishing has got far too complicated since the days of Mr. Crabtree. There only used to be about 6 baits then, and half of those were bread.
When i had time! normark 12ft avenger, waggler, bed of hemp, and a nice presented hook bait of 3 reds, bottle of finest real ale! bliss
I thought it was you who cared, as it was you who brought it up  The national series here seems to be a victim of politics, from what I can gather. The circuits charge a fortune for hire, there's less of them, they're further apart and they're aligned with certain series promoters. There's still some fast boys coming through but I think the really good guys have already gone to Europe (Arthur Sissus, Jack Miller and so on). It's been hard for me to follow the racing at all this year because I've been so busy and I can't get the pay tv channel that has all the racing on it. There's a couple of Aussies in Euro SSTK that are good - Jed Metcher and Bryan Staring. Troy Herfoss is pretty tasty - he's riding in IDM at the moment with Muggers. I'm going to try and organise a track day with Muggers when he gets back, his parents know my parents and apparently he's going to hang up the leathers soon. There's also Remy Gardner (Wayne's son) who is in CEV with two other young Aussies. As for the next Bayliss, dunno who that is but we've got some young blokes coming through.
Yes, its in the Rules. Apart from Steve's son of course, but then he's named after an Aussie
I know. I know. Although I was pretty small at the time. Even in about 1970, Mr Crabtree looked about 2 decades out of date. Men no longer wore hats and smoked pipes as a matter of course.
I thought there was a problem at circuits etc. It's pretty much the same in the USA Barry Sheene did alot for Aussie racers and bringing them into world spotlight... RIP Bazza Brookes is doing well in bsb
