That is what happens when you leave a perfectly good helmet manufacturer for another for money, sorry, sponsorship. Lorenzo is reputed to have been paid single figure millions by HJC who have beed unable to deliver a quality helmet. Not sure if Lorenzo has a performance get out clause or if he is stuck with it. Andy
Nah, left them before the start of this season for shed loads of money. So far the HJC lining has come down to obscure his vision and now misted up twice, or that is what Lorenzo said. Andy
Jorge: Get one of your crew to stick a bit of double-sided tape under the lining to stop it falling down Cut a potato in half and rub the inside of your visor with the cut bit of the spud...(if it was good enough for Battle of Britain pilots,it'll be good enough). Oh yeah, and stop whinging and making excuses. You took the money from HJC,so grit your teeth and get on with it.
That's good because I've got an X-Lite, don't have any problems with it misting up. Emmett and Ryder were were saying that Lyn Jarvis ripped him another arse hole the first time he said he had problems with his lid. I wonder how much he'd get for wearing a Lidl lid?
Luffield's always been packed ever since the race returned to Silvers, but my feeling was that the overall crowd was smaller than in the previous few years. It seemed much quicker to get in and out, and I'd have thought that both the (very much) lower tv viewing audience, and bad weather, both affected the gate.
I was there as well all weekend in the new pits, bike was in the wing on display nice selection of machinery in there.
Silvestone was sold out and I thought I heard the announcer say in the order of 100,000. I think there were certainly more there this year than last as far as Becketts was concerned. Traffic management has been improved significantly. Shame they didn't do the same for the pit lane walk on Saturday - absolute shambles. Who in their right mind would let kids in on bikes and scooters and babies in prams ? Some people behaved like mindless idiots. Andy
I hung on and watched the redbull rookies. You couldnt get out of the circuit even on a bike, as the way they held the roadabout stopped all traffic. Managed to (almost literally) scrape out and get masp a few bikes who just sit there and dont filter. Whats the point if a bike if you dont filter?! Saw two multis on way out, one new/one old 1200, one two up
Interesting thanks. I'll keep an eye out for the figs. I thought I heard 73,000 on the day, though I think they generally only release 3-day figs. (I'm interested myself in the correlation between tv coverage and ticket sales, whether the sport's greatly diminished visibility will impact this, as I assume.) PS: for those interested, ticket sales for next year's went on sale at 10am this morning.
There were two exits out of the car park we were in. All the usual nonsense with massive queue trying to go directly towards the A43,but the other route straight past the golf course and onto the A413,(the bit that runs North-South).Took maybe 10 minutes to get out onto the open road, then a swift left-right and onto the A5. Even on the bikes we come through the villages from the South, don't generally meet too much traffic going in or out
We left after M3 from main entrance. Got through the traffic ok turned off down A5 and had clear ride home to Essex by 6pm. Just about kept dry but visor misting a bit. Shark evoline2.
Had a great weekend, went for the 3 days, managed to find a unlocked gate into the pits on Friday afternoon, seem a shame not to use it,bumped into a few riders, made the Mrs day.
Cracking day even in the rain on Sunday. Seeing Rossi win was awesome and having Putrucci and Dovi in second and third was magic. Putruci was so happy it looked like his head was going to explode! I can't believe how fast they are in the rain.
