Carbon Wheels

  1. Thanks everyone. I'm sold on the BSTs. Might just manage to get them before the bike gets put to bed. I'll start with the wheels and get used to them and go from there. In the meantime I'll get clued up on the geometry change options.

  2. I have had bst's on my rsv for about 6 years and can't fault them, quicker steering, better acceleration, better braking and pretty much all the other good things people have said about them plus they are really easy to clean. If i buy another bike that i couldn't swap them onto i would buy another set before anything else.

  3. my BST's left South Africa today, excited :D

  4. Which bike they going on Gary?
    Pics please when fitted. :)

  5. my hyper, once here they will be fitted with the rest of the bits I have (inc Ex-Box exhaust) and I will put pics up.

just be aware the BST's are made to order so will have to wait 5-6 weeks for them to make them.

  6. Thought they were british

  7. no, that's dymag

  8. Biggest difference I felt on my 748 was mag wheels, ergal axle, titanium bolts all- round front end, mag 30mm triples, and steep rake angle. It is very different to standard components and rake settings

  9. I want carbon wheels

    And a panigale to match

  10. Mate of mine who many will know (ex-DD champion) fitted carbon wheels to his big bang R1 track bike recently.

He was astounded how much of a difference they've made to the bike, he's absolutely blown away by the improvement.

  11. Until you've ridden a bike with them on you really won't understand just how much of a difference they make.

  12. ^ tried a 955 fitted with a set about four years ago and even I noticed the difference.

  13. Best money I've spent on my pani!

  14. Do you guys ever have issues with tyre fitting, esp at tracks?

  15. I don't, I change them before I go if there boarder line and have a wet setup on my original wheels

  16. You got a local fitter then, I would nt even change my multi wheels never mind carbon ones! Shitty track bikes ones are different

  17. I've pencilled a set in for next spring. I'm not going to spend any more money on the exhaust system to squeeze out 2 bhp. Pound for pound, the all-round performance benefits of the carbon wheels strike me as a vastly more cost-effective option. Right now though there's the small matter of a 15000 mile service and a new clutch to be going on with..

  18. Some facts from a guy who really knows his shit about carbon fibre and carbon fibre wheels in particular:

  19. Marchesini are circulating a pic and some statements on FB showing one smashed to pieces. Except it has carbon discs that are aLso smashed to pieces

That alone tells me how great carbon wheels really are :upyeah:

  20. Feckin' hell look at the brakes on that..!
