New to the Multi and apart from the test ride I've never ridden on the Scorpion tyres, I'm currently on Michelin Pilot Power 3's on my ZZR 1400, excellent grip in corners, wet or dry, decent mileage, I've covered nearly 3600 miles on my current set including 2600 miles in Europe. What are your opinions regarding the Multi? The last V twin I had was a Tuono RR in 2008 and it liked to eat rear tyres!!!
Scorpions are ok, pr4s better and last longer ime, and will be going on when these std ones need replacing in 3000 miles
I plan to put PR4's on mine when It needs doubt I will get 5k out of the rear near 4k now, and poss trip tomorrow to Ardennes for a couple nights so that will be 1k
PR4s going on mine when the mismatched tyres on mine wear out. Out of interest has anyone else bought a second hand, 2013 in my case, bike off a main dealer with mismatched tyre makes? The rear was replaced just before I collected it. Jon.
I'm putting a set of PR4s (Std) on today, replacing the Scorpion IIs the rear of which was down to the wear mark at only 2,800 miles.
750 miles on the Pirelli oem tyre and no complaints. Wet commuting at 5.30am and there is plenty of confidence in braking and roundabouts. I may stick with these or go to Bridgestone T30 evos next.
I have PR 4's and just managed 3000 miles on the rear and its on the wear indicators. Good grip in the wet and dry but was expecting more miles from the rear from the research I done.
Just put Bridgestone T30 on the rear and T30 EVO on the front of my '14 multi and am well impressed in the wet and dry after about 1,500 miles. Had PR4's on before and couldn't fault them either almost 6k from the rear. The original scorpions were ok but gone in less than 3,5k miles. I experienced the T30's on a CBR600 at a rob haslem day at donnington on a very wet day and was super impressed how they handled it and how confident the instructors were on them, thought I would give them a try. Apologies if I'm old school multi on your part of the forum but thought you might let me in
6k from the rear, that's excellent but my PR4 rear would have struggled to get to 4k. Maybe I need to loose some weight!!
I have shied away from the PR4's in favour of 'Pilot Power 3'. Reason is I am more interested in dry grip than wet. I am on about to get my 3rd set and I get about 5,000 miles out of a set.
Just fit some new scorpion 2's to the 2010 multi. Old scorpion 1's did well mileage wise and these are meant to be better so fingers crossed. Done bugger all miles since fitting due to bloody pneumonia but I'll be back on the bike soon enough and I've reset trip 1 so I know exactly what I get out of them.
Road, track, wet, dry, they cope with it all. Effortlessly. With that many cuts, may even work off road lol
