Confusedius say "never think of yourself as an ugly person - rather think of yourself as a beautiful monkey"
That's what I thought at first - but looking round maybe not. It's definitely top price but haven't found anything similar much cheaper.
Its top price because of the extras. Maybe at least a grand there. The bike looks to be very well looked after. The engine looks to have no corrosion which as you know is a plus. I just bought a 1100s 2007 reg with 8000 miles for £3850 FSH, no extras like this one. Looking at it ,thiis is probably in better condition than mine. Youve looked around and got a feel for the market therefore you probably have a better idea than most. I would go and look and if you like it make an offer. Enjoy. A very good under rated bike.
Thanks for that. The more I look the more I think it's a good buy. Will try and get to have a look and report back. Can I make a request ? One problem I have is parking - could someone with a Multistrada 1000 measure how wide it is. I have to drive down an alleyway so it might be an issue.
Seems a little expensive - I think I'd want it nearer £3000 for a bike of that age, even with the goodies. It looks tidy enough. Maybe check the frame has had the recall mod done at the rear. I had a 2004 bike and it sheared off... As a comparison, a friend just bought a really clean 2008 1100 and paid £4k for it. No pipe but he has a far newer bike with only 8k on the clocks.
Hopefully looking at it Saturday - will try making an offer if I like it. Thanks - haven't done a search yet so apologies if it's covered elsewhere, what's the mod ? Is it easy to check ? There doesn't seem to be that many about - unless I'm looking in the wrong places.
Anything after 2006 should have been fixed under a recall. You can see where mine broke here... Multistrada Frame Repair by Nik Codling | Photobucket I think the rear panels have to come off to check for additional bracing has been added. Don't buy a scabby one like I did. It was too cheap for a reason, and drove me to tears - literally!
