So what have you done today..?

  1. Not a bite as in biting to take a chunk out of you, they are very inquisative and have a gentle nibble. I was in the water for about an hour and half. Some of the bull seals are huge but at no point did I feel scared.

  3. Brilliant! They seem a lot friendlier and more curious than the ones I have met in Scotland.

  4. Oh the simple joys of life...
Left home for work (late as usual) on the 999 with 196 kms showing since last fill up. This pretty much guaranteed that the fuel light was going to come on immediately, meaning I'd have to fill up on the way to work and be even later. Bummer.
But no! The fuel light came on at an incredible 215 kms, leaving me only 10 to do on reserve. Result! So I have got about 140 miles out of that tank, without riding particularly abstemiously. All comes of a steady run down the motorway to Geneva.

Having had my number plate fall off again, twice, during that trip - it is now definitively lost, so I needed a new one. A remarkably painless process. I was going to go to the insurance bureau to pick up the bit of paper I needed to take to the licensing centre. No need, they said, they would just email the document directly to the cantonal DVLA equivalent and it would be there in 10 minutes. I rocked up, filled out two simple bits of paper and they gave me a new licence plate with a different number in no time flat and said they'd send me the bill. Didn't even have to wait or queue. And I now have a cool 4 digit number instead of the 5 digit one I could never remember.

I installed a new plate holder for the new plate, and created a superb invisible bodge with a handy bit of leaf spring I had lying around to secure the holder with 3 bolts instead of the 2 that were employed previously. Gone the annoying, vibrating, jangling plate noise and I now know that I won't lose the new plate from the holder wearing. Bike sounds so much better without the snare-drum background noise.

  10. Didn't know that, it pissed down on our first evening so I wore my waterproof over jacket when walking around the town to the Ratskeller for some food.

Today we rode from Regensburg to Denzligen in the Black Forest, our base for the next 5 nights. It is a 300 mile journey, it took 8 1/2 hours!!! Basically it was 300 mile set of roadworks with poorly signposted diversions all over the place. Thankfully the weather was good, sunny and warm, finally left roadworks at the top of the Glottertal valley for the lovely run down into Denzligen. I just ate my weight in Mushroom spatzle - yum

  11. Stopped by the Nürburgring on the off chance only to find it closed for testing. Bugger!

  12. just watched the BBC's Paula Radcliffe interview where she denies any wrongdoing and refuses to release her blood test results or confront the goverment committee which raised London Marathon records.
On one hand she is giving interviews to try to defend herself, and then she says that if people have doubts, that's their problem and it doesn't concern her. Can't see her refusal to release blood test results has validity unless she has something to hide.

  13. Today I have taken two steps back :/

She trying to scare us with those eyes or just intimidate the interviewer?

Completely crazy emotional nut bag imo

  16. Are you in Germany?

  17. No :(

  18. Why are you showing a German flag? Who's your ISP?

  19. I don't know - our IT used to go through Denmark, then Poland - but always showed as GB flag. I've asked our Europe IT Manager who happened to be on site today and she says nothing has changed as far as she is aware :( and she's fugly too :Arghh:
