Ohlins forks on S models can be a bit of a pain. As nice as they work and look they blow seals regularly so might be a problem if youre relying on the bike for work. £100+ bill to repair. Ohlins shock and showa forks is good combo.
First ever set of ohlins forks I've had (multi touring S) and one fork was weeping within a few months. Seal mate fixed it but never had it on all my years of other branded forks
i believe it;s a common prob. maybe i am just lucky. saying that, the dust covers are badly perished.
But on the other hand, ohlins plus the mechatronic SCU has me smiling like none of my other suspension.
They are absolutely stonking bikes to ride. So much fun and so versatile. No problem touring with a top box when I had my SMR. Then take the top box off and it's a track weapon that will show up many other bikes. My missus loved it pillion wise too, nearly as comfy as the multi apparently. They certainly look better than those old Multi's anyway
Not sure about the pipes ( one on top of the other ). Other than that I really like the monster Would have to look for different pipes though.
you could sell those arrows easily and get a Zard underseat Zard Exhausts, end pipes &... or the ebox if that floats yer boat Ducati Monster S4R S4RS QD Ex Box Full Exhaust System Kit or you could look for a different monster with side by side exhaust
Totally agree. My SMT never ceases to delight. The bike feels almost weightless and the handling is an absolute joy. There is very little that will get past it on a nadgery B road. Hasn't got the grunt of a Ducati but with its very rev-happy nature it just delivers its power in a different way. The two bikes never feel like they're in competition and because of their differences they compliment one another. The Streetfighter is a serious minded sort of bike to ride. Its huge fun but requires commitment. Its a visceral, exciting bike. The KTM is like a happy, over-excited dog. Its fast but fun and easy to ride at the same time. But it does egg you on and turns the most sensible rider into a hooligan.
I like the general look of the monster but hate the front light.... Its like they didnt even bother trying....
Nope.... Wouldnt even consider one.... Had 2 hypers now and the last one i shouldn't have sold 1100 evo sp next...
I tend to agree. But still like the monster, I think aftermarket mods make more difference to them in terms of looks than any of the others.
Yes.... I will concede that on the italian days in bristol ive seen some nice ones.... But not nice enough for me to buy....
