Ducati Panigale 1199s Tricolore Stolen £2000 Reward

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Simon Gatehouse, Sep 8, 2015.

  1. The least stolen bikes here in the US are European bike specifically Ducati's. That why I' m not worried where I park mine. I feel you though. I had my Harley stolen from me way back. Hope you get your bike back man. Only thing that could make a grown man cry.

  2. That. Or a kick in the bollox with these :O

  3. They would go quite nicely...

  4. I am sorry to hear that you got yours knicked....nothing worse than that feeling you get in your stomach when it hits....I use these on both my bikes....

ROADLOK | Motorcycle Locks for Ducati, KTM and Harley-Davidson

unobtrusive and as thieves don't know theyre there they try to roll it away but it doesn't move a MM....its not full proof (as it could be picked up ) but even if it makes their job harder buy a few minutes it might save it getting nicked....

You would have thought that with the amount of bikes that get nicked in London a honey trapped panigale or r1 would net some thieves relatively quickly....

  5. I sent a letter to Hackney council recently, complaining about their replacement of motorcycle bays with 4hr limit, paid car bays. I also commented on the lack of secure locking points on bays. The response I got was that the ground anchors are expensive and therefore difficult to widely roll out. Their idea of a ground anchor is ridiculous though. The ones near Tottenham Court Road probably cost £150 each. All we're asking for is a sunken bar running along the kerb. £50 plus labour.

  6. Really sorry to hear that man, I'm so paranoid just where the hell are we supposed to park our bikes, am I missing something?

  7. In London, you really need your company to have secure parking. If you're parking in a bike bay you need a shitter to use for commuting. Maybe get a scrambler? Hehe.

I often park my multi in a bike bay near work. When it's the most expensive bike in the bay, you should worry. I personally would like a £2k tourer like a transalp. Something I don't give a crap about, bulletproof and will just get me to work.

  8. The thing that gets me is that I have never parked here before, I was late for a meeting and would normally find NCP. The bastards must cruise the parking bays I am told that the format is usually two on a scooter more often or not wearing matching bash hats (bought with the proceeds) and at lease one with a backpack. The next pair I see will fucking certainly get my attention!!

  9. An hour before mine was pinched a work mate saw the same, 2 guys on a scooter. Didn't twig at the time.

  10. We all must have seen the video of the scooter riders attacking that bike shop with hammers, trying to take bikes. No respect and no fear. We need stronger punishments, maybe depending upon the price of what was stolen and the violence of methods used. I.E. A non-violent attempt to steal a £15k bike should result in 2 years inside. Add violence and add 2 more years. Stop this suspended sentence crap for what should be labelled as a non petty crime.

  11. I don't think it will happen....the police will protect their own....where I am now (at work) theres a police station across the way on a trading estate. Earlier on this year some enterprising tree huggers made their own stinger and called the plod....they obviously race out in their cars over the stingers pop the tyres and proceed on foot....and catch one of them....they came to our office looking for video footage - took the said people to the cleaners and put them away - all happened reasonably quickly I might add....in the past we (our company) has been broken into and no one ever caught...even when one of their staff's cars got hit by a lorry from the loading bays across the way they were straight over looking for camera footage...I don't think if it was anyone else they'd have been so proactive.

  12. They don't have a problem finding the money for the meters & ticket machines though

  13. They say it's grim up north but after reading some of this it makes me glad I live in the wilderness that is north of Watford Gap. I might have sheep for neighbours an no electric but I can check my bike every half hour when I take a trip to the coal bunker to stoke up the fire or to have a piss because up here we don't have indoor toilets it's still at the bottom of the yard. :D Seriously though I feel sorry for those who constantly battle with security it must be a nightmare. :(

  15. Nice! F'kem don't let them piss on your parade. Same spec?

  16. Whatever u do, vary your habits now and do NOT use any of your usual car parks! I read an article which was a reformed bike thief and he said it was disgustingly easy, they would nick the bike then wait 2 weeks for the insurance to replace it and go get the new one!

  17. My brother in law got his Multi back having had it nicked whilst at work in Farringdon. He had to claim for a bit of damage and new steering lock but it wasn't really that painful.

    Good luck.

  18. Not a million miles from where I park my multi... Gulp

  19. Are you my brother in law, LOL

  20. And exactly where is this?
Says the man with a large white van....
