Its a 2007 (so an early one) and it only has 3000 odd miles on the Odometer. It had been dropped by its first owner but never written off so its got a V5. The next owner made it a track bike and I bought it from him. I was after something cheap but capable. I enjoy track riding but can't do loads of them a year with a young family
Look for a 2010 caspian blue (with gold wheels) drop dead gorgeous. And yes, fully adjustable suspension with the 2009+ being updated with more power and less weight, and slightly upgraded suspension with high/low speed adjustment
Not a fan of blue... but for some reason I do like 2015 motogp gsxrs. If you're going to go tacky, go full tack I say.
It depends on the damage. There should be an insurance company report on the vehicle with all the damage but I'd be having a serious look over it too. Obviously as a track bike cosmetics are not a major issue for most be the essentials like engine, frame and forks should be OK. Wheels can be replaced easily and a scuff on the bottom of a fork leg, calliper or swing arm might be enough to right a bike of with purely cosmetic damage.
Can I suggest having a look on 675.cc mate? There were a few early model tidy bikes advertised for £3xxx anything under that and I would say it's going to be fairly rough
That seems like a fair reserve. Sell the fairings, lights etc and get some track fairings on and you're off!
It is tempting to at least take a look. I'm getting a bit more confident with mechanical stuff, but not sure I could really tell if there was something badly wrong with it or not. The damage does look superficial though. No worse than mine suffered when I low sided at Combe.
If damage where frame etc it wouldn't be a d. It would be a b. The fact it's a d generally tells you it's minor.
Nope, I don't think so. I'd go for one anytime, but would prefer one that hasn't been fixed so one could see the original damage...
Good job u won't then! It's Ditched the cambelts, and the service intervals are double what they were on the 848 for mileage. Yes there is still an annual service but less has to be replaced, I was quoted significantly less than the services on my 848 and the 748 was higher still than that, with 4000 mile oil changes back then so they are going in the right direction
I'm going indy with all future services, considerably less than dealer prices and frankly I would be more inclined to trust an indy to really know their stuff, especially on older models.
