900 SS Mini Fairings

  1. Hi all, thought I would show you what these side fairings from ebay sellers ricambi-weiss-com looked like. They are a good quality item, with just a little fettling to get the indicator pods to fit. They are a fair bit smaller than the Ducati version, and dont have a rear fixing point. They vibrate gently when batting along, no problem though. The dear old bus runs around 15 degC cooler now that she has shed the full fairings.
She is also blessed with a 944 kit, Boss headers, Sil Moto cans, stage 2 dyno, race coils open airbox etc. Sounds great and goes round Cadwell v nicley !!

  3. Cheers SteveB, they came in white, I used grey primer and quite a few Ford Radiant Red ( Hycote) and laquer rattle cans to get a half decent finish. BTW what is a T8 ??

  5. Are you running the black plastic underbrace as well?

  6. Might do if I knew what one was ( 'scuse my higrance !)

  7. I've had these fairings on my SS for years now and if you want a simple mod to stop them moving at high speed just try this. Replace the two bolts that secure the headlight frame to the main frame with a longer Allen head bolt, add a locknut to it so you can tighten the bolt up leaving the allen head sticking out about 20mm. Finally stick an old well nut with the steel insert removed onto the allen head and adjust. It works really well at supporting the fairing. Can upload a pic if you need. Pretty sure the rib used on the standard half fairings won't fit these but if you do the mod mentioned above you shouldn't need too.
    Ian.

  12. An underbrace would be easy enough to make up out of 1/4" plastic sheet or similar? Would stop it flapping its wings etc

  13. tis true but l am going to invite Darren along so he can hoover all the bits up for me
