For the last couple of weeks my 1198s is getting more and more difficult to start. Earlier it was only when the engine was warm but now it is almost at every start attempt. Usually it takes 3-4 attempts before the engine fires up. The battery is fully charged don't know how old it is though. The starter motor works normally to start with but then it almost stop for like half a second before it continues. Any suggustions? PS. Is it possible to post a sound file or video here? Hard to explain for a foreigner
Good quality sealed Cables will undoubtedly help www.exact-start.com  (see for sale section for Forum discounts for Subscribers) but have you a cell down in your battery perhaps if it has been a rapid deterioration?
Sounds like cable but even if the battery is taking a full charge it could still be goosed. How old is the bike and battery? Replacing/doubling up on the battery/solenoid, solenoid/starter and main earth, works wonders. Talking from first hand experience, as the OEM cables age they deteriorate markedly. Exige's cable kit is really well made and comes with full instructions, I know, I have it. John
I know exactly what you mean. My St4 with a 916 engine has been doing it. It turns over, stops, thinks about it for a fraction of a second and OFF WE GO. Mine has a brand new battery! Been driving me mad. Now as it happens I've just come in from the garage after having fitted some 'Exact fit cables.' Problem solved. It starts up straight away. No pausing, no thinking about it, just starts straight off! So I'd try some if I were you, before you get a new battery that you may not need.
