1100 Evo Sp Added To The Stable

  1. I've decided that my 1199 is waaaay too fast for the road and that every ride is being ruined by me worrying that I'm going to be caught speeding so I decided to get something slower but equally as fun for the road. I wanted something completely different to every other bike I've had (race rep) and so it had to be the Hypermotard. It didn't take long for one to come up and after hearing it start for the first the guy could have named his price! Anyway I picked this up 2011 Evo SP yesterday which has had pretty much every mod I would have done to it already done:
    - DP Seat
    - Termi 2 into 1 system
    - DP rearsets
    - DP carbon clutch cover
    - R&G oil cooler cover
    - CRG brake and clutch lever

It also had a full belt service 3 weeks ago so is ready to be enjoyed. The yellow subframe makes it stand out from the others and isn't something I may have chosen myself but I actually really like it. Only plan is to fit a 14t front sprocket and enjoy!!

  4. Nice bike. See what you mean re. the subfame, bit bright. I'd have those Breil stickers off too :)

  5. Lovely bike. Don't like the rhubarb and custard though :-S

  6. What's the performance like after your 1199?

  7. TBH I actually quite like the yellow, it makes it look different to all the others I've seen, agree about the Breil stickers though I'll be taking those off ;)

Errrrr disappointing. I know it was never going to be anywhere near as fast but all these stories of people saying that it lifts the front wheel in first and second I've found to be rubbish. Don't get me wrong, it's not slow, I just think I've been spoilt with the 1199 and the excitement that gives. On the flip side that's why I bought it as my licence is going to be torn into tiny pieces if I keep riding the 1199 on the road it really is wasted there. The Hypermotard is loads of fun though and I think will be a much better road bike for me and I'll keep the Panigale for this..........

  8. I test rode a new 1050 Speed Triple last year and felt the same. I bought a 996 instead.

  9. First and foremost if it hasn't been - get it dyno'd even if there is a race ecu on there - not sure where you are but Chris at CJS is the man for that.....whilst I agree on the comparison against the 1199 - (I could say the same about my RSV4) the way the hyper makes its power is different - the thing I miss about mine is the fun - its all down at the bottom end - 10 - 80mph - its the way the thing pulls you along, so much so that ill be looking for an sp in the near future....very envious...

  10. Like Comfy says, & open the airbox (MWR filter/lid), de-cat if not already & proper remap will transform the bike. I too was disappointed in the std bikes performance, but after the above I never get bored with it (mileage proves this).

    2012 1100 hyper evo 32k miles
    MWR filter
Leo Vici de cat (std cans)
    CJS custom remap
    15/42 gearing
EVR 48t clutch basket & plates (quiet) & 4 std springs (light)
Multistrada 320mm discs Brembo HH Pads
    Bridgestone s20 evos

  11. Well, ive got the go ahead from the other half to sell my project supermoto and get another hyper....although an sp wasn't in the agreement but im gonna see if I can swing it..

  12. 32 thousand miles....that's bound to be worth fuck all now....ill buy it! :)

  13. Comfy, when it goes pop I'll be open to offers...

  14. Thanks for all the replies, already ordered a 14t sprocket and velocity stacks from the U.S. Once fitted I'll take it down to CJS.

  15. Comfy I sent you a pm :upyeah:

  16. Yep - if I went for a standard one that's the sort of thing id be going for - unless I could wing an sp!! - gotta finish the supermoto first...and sell it of course...!

  17. Hope you don't mind me asking but I seen on a few posts you seem quite keen on getting rid of your Supermoto project. Its something I've always fancied doing. Has it been too costly or the results not what you were hoping for or have you just not bonded and miss your Hyper too much? Don't you think you may change your mind once it is finished?

  18. Yes to all of those.....

    1. Yes - it has been costly - I reckon its weighed in at (and im guessing now) about 5k
    2. Its turned out better than I thought it would...
    3. Bonded: Not had the chance yet as ive never ridden it but as you say - that might change when I ride it...! although my state of mind at the moment wants the hyper as ive had 2 so ive got a point of reference...
    4. Yes, may change once im riding it....

The thing is Im not really too sure what its worth as its gone beyond "just a 525 supermoto" so it depends on finding the right person that can appreciate the hours and work that's gone into it...electrically there'll be no other supermoto quite like it...

  19. After my KTM 990 SMR, sportsbikes just weren't as fun on the road. That thing would lift the front every time I got on the gas coming off a roundabout. Sportsbikes just don't cope will enough on our roads to give you the confidence you need.
