What was the weather like?
It looked a bit frightening down there recently.

 

met a guy going to the Bol on the boat across last week, also a guy riding a Guzzi Brevia to New Zealand! The weather was foul on Tuesday and Wednesday, worst winds I've ever rode in. It was worth it for this

 

Quite glad I didn't go in the end. I can do the twisties any time and thus avoid the downpours.
As for winds, ha!
Riding the length of Harris was the worst I've ever encountered in 35 years. You could only ride into the wind, or have it behind you. Perpendicular had you blown off the road, literally. Frightening!

 

I hid behind an artic at one point just to stay in my lane, scary!

 

OK, fair enough!

 

Weather was awful going down there.. two days of heavy rain and high cross winds.. We went in my brothers little Mazda Bongo camper van, and that was being blown about a bit. Glad I wasn't on a bike. Once down there it was clear blue skies, hot and dusty.. surprised to see Radical Ducati had a stand, thought they'd closed down?
