At the moment I have an Aria tour x4 I like the helmet but I do find it gives me a lot of wind noise. But my biggest bug bear is the visor, it's a pinlock visor but I always have to have it cracked open a bit so the bottom of it doesn't steam up, which mean in the rain it comes down inside the visor and until recently it used to fill up the pinlock and totally obscure my vision. I've fixed that problem now by finely adjusting the cams and insert position, but I find myself getting a bit board with the helmet. So for my up and coming birthday and at a total loss of what to get if I can't get my Harley yet and I don't fancy a scottoiler I'm thinking of a new helmet, I want comfort, quiet I must be able to get my glasses on and it not shake them over every bump, and it must come up over the front of my nose or have plenty of room in front of it. Taking alllll that into account any ideas chaps?
I have had a Scuberth C3 for some years now, best I have ever owned except "helmet hair" Leaves me with a godawful centre parting after prolonged use. 15 days after a recent 12 day European trip I am still trying to train out the centre parting. Other than that the C3 is a compact helmet with pretty good wind noise resistance.
Girlfriend raves about her X-Lite carbon plus someone wrote a very good piece about a Shark carbon pro. I prefer my Shoei X Spirit II but that is soon to be replaced and I am not a fan of Marc Marques graphics. Andy
Another X-Lite lover here. Quiet, well built, pinlock works, room for intercom & lasted me many years. Changed it to an AGV now and it's just not as good but I'll live with it until my next change.
My current helmet is an AGV Pista and I love it, minimal drag and very light and comfortable but known to be noisy. So I bought a C3pro to go touring with, love the fact you can plod about town with it up, chat to your mates at the lights etc but this helmet is far noisier than the Pista for me
Yes but the pista is how much?!? It's so much they should offer test rides. I'd still love one though, who doesn't love a Rossi rep

Shoei X1100 is my current helmet of choice, comfortable, well ventilated and very quiet, minimal wind noise unless all vents are fully open then you can hear and feel the wind running through the helmet, I tour every summer for two weeks in Europe and the ventilation is welcome at 35 plus degrees. I had the X1000 before this one and won't be buying anything other than shoei for my next lid.
Current helmet is Shoei XR1100 which is fine, but I seem to have a Shoei shaped head as I can't get into an Arai at all. very light, practical and sturdy although the Shoei Air is much lighter and may be my next lid. Not that impressed with ventilation, but good comfort. Never have a problem with the pinlock, but they do wear out. However, you might be better off with a flip-top if you wear glasses. My wife prefers the Shoei to the Caberg or Schuberth, as lighter.
+1 for the x spirit II, extra tall pinlock to stop the bottom fogging up, and fairly quiet for a "racing" helmet, excellent aerodynamics aswell

I would try the Schuberth S2. Failing that, Shoei GT Air - although mine isn't anywhere near as quiet as many claim it to be. I still rate Schuberth and Arai over the Shoei for interior plushness and any Schuberth for quietness.
Shark evoline are good flip. Chinpiece goes all way over to back. Theres a knack to putting it on that takes a bit of getting used to.
I use the HJC RPHA Max flip-up helmet. It's light, quiet and far cheaper than the Schuberths. Got it in matt black and I think it looks pretty good.
For me: Arai : =comfort,had quite a few from Rapides to Tour-X and all comfortable and well finished.Far too dear for a crash helmet though and after a certain price point you are just paying for graphics and vents Scorpion: the inflatable cheek pads are pretty good actually,fit and finish is good, the price reasonable but somehow it seems a bit dark inside when wearing it. Schuberth C3 Pro : I wanted a proper Bluetooth installation,hence going completely against my current thinking and spending far too much on a new hat.Pretty comfy,interior is well finished and there is a very good view out.However...feels flimsy for an expensive helmet,(latest research implies soft shell is safer..),it's a bit noisy and feels a bit claustrophobic putting the front down at first .Worst thing is that if you flip the front up when it's raining,the visor gets wet on the inside and remains wet when you flip it down.Only had it 10 days/1200 miles,(and it hammered down at the weekend), so time will tell,but at the moment the jury is definitely still out. Auchan supermarket special : light,well-finished,and cheap enough to throw away if you chipped it.Great view out,very comfortable,and not to noisy,surprisingly. Downsides are absolutely no street cred or admiring glances,(only a desperate criminal would pinch it),and probably not a lot of spares about. Best of luck!
Shoei Neotech flip up - generally happy but I suffer from misting up on cold mornings and heavy rain even with the pillock. Quiet though and good in the Summer heat. Matching Interphone headset is brilliant for music and intercom.
