Ive bought a used 899 with bike trac fitted. Anyone know if I can transfer it over?? Re-subscribe? I tried phoning but the office is shut.
You best ring them with your model number and see what they quote you, not bothered with mine cos it doesn't reduce my insurance premiums by much
Mine either.... Just like the added piece of mind and also the bike down feature is good as I ride alone a lot
subscriptions. Bike Trac requires an ongoing subscription to pay for the cost of data transfers from and to the device, and the central Bike Trac computer servers. This includes text messages and the cost of the Secure Operating Centre. Bike Trac has 3 subscription options: 1 year: £99.99 2 years: £179.99 3 years: £229.99 Please note that Bike Trac is registered to the owner, not the bike. This means that you can transfer the unit from bike to bike without re-registering or paying additional administration fees. To purchase subscriptions, log in to your Road Angel customer account at www.roadangelgroup.com.
My bike down activates a couple of times every ride. Switched it off as the missus no longer bothers worrying when she gets the alert. Got the latest model bike trac so it's not that either. I've had bike down alerts riding along motorways dead straight.
I have bike trac fitted, turned off the bike down feature as my wife kept getting calls bike down, not the sort of thing your wife wants to hear, especially false alarm and repeatedly. They were supposed to have modified this issue last year, but it sounds like they have not. Other than that its a good system and I would recommend one.
I've had Bike Trac on my D16 for three years and 15,000 miles. I've only ever had the bike down alert once - when I dropped the bike as it stalled pulling away from cold (and with the help of a mate thankfully managed to catch it before it hit the deck!). I'm just about to subscribe for another three years. I can't get insurance without it.
+1 to Bike Trac. I've used Tracker-Monitor in the past on another bike - but this gives the webpage with real time tracking. I've only had the "bike down" alert once after going around a corner quite quickly. The missus does not know about that feature ...
I've had several false "bike-down" alerts whilst on track-days this year so it looks to be a common problem; fortunately my wife very rarely even looks at her mobile otherwise I really would be in trouble!
