  1. Absolutely!!! It's got two wheels and an engine,I have never been stereotyped in my life.....good job we all have different tastes, otherwise this world would be boring as fuck!!

  4. To be honest,I can't really either......plus not much room in the garage,if only my numbers would come up in the lottery!!

  5. I had a Harley 1200 in the late 80s..........Evolution engine and all that.

It was not good to ride in winter........absolutely freezing.........in Summer it was quite good plodding around, but I reckoned I would end up in hospital..........

.........you couldn't expect it to handle and it yawed like mad in long sweeping bends even at 40mph.

Buy one in Winter if you really want one.......ride it home and then get it out again when the weather warms up.

  6. I noticed that following a guy on an 883 on a charity run recently. He seemed unable to hold a steady line round any bend. I assumed it was just a wobbly rider but I'm not sure now that the riding position hasn't got a lot to do with it.

  7. a guy I know has Harleys and always complained of the handling
he replaces the front wheel rim for a smaller size
    i.e from a 19 down to an 18
says it improves the handling tremendously
but that's just what I was told

  8. A mate of mine has owned a million bikes over the years, of all flavours (even a Kawasaki Drifter!!) but nowadays aside from a bit of green-laning his favourite hobby is pootling off for a few days camping on a Royal Enfield Bullett... Sticking to very minor roads and just exploring. I can see the attraction in that.

  9. The V-rod had a 19" front the XR1200 has an 18" as standard.

  10. So can I. I've always had a hankering for a BSA B33 for some back lane pootling. Don't see many about now and I guess the Bullet would be more dependable. And probably cheaper to buy. Still like one though..

  11. I quite like the XR1200, there was a bsb support series for them a few years ago, plus there is plenty of potential for tweaking.

  18. Don't buy anything pre Evolution otherwise you might as well set yourself up an account with Loctite and get in a stack of 1.0mm drill bits, plus miles of stainless lockwire.

Oh, and gallons of Gunk and several drip trays.
