  1. They should all have insurance and some sort of reg on them!!!

A customer of mine is in court and lost his job as a van driver after he came round a bend in a national speed limit at what the police estimated at about 50mph to find three MAMIL's riding three a breast and knocked two of them off who where to busy talking and not concentrating on the road!!! And he's in the dock go figure that?!!

  2. Lots of country lanes and blind corners round our way. They love a cycle club and are a regular blight on drivers, running 3 abreast and in small but slightly separate groups so no chance of an overtake.

The worst I've seen (twice in the last 4 months) are 'support vehicles'. Completely unnecessary as your only a bloody cycle club, but they have a car following at the rear. Surely there is a legal minimum speed limit? Both times they were not even running hazards.

  3. And how much is that costing the poor bastard? 20K? 30K?

    It's a travesty.

  4. His job maybe licence etc feel for him could happen to any of us

Their a menace round her too, had one fall off in the town centre, he was so determined to punch the side of my van that he fell off because I gave him so much room and he couldn't reach the van

  5. Did he run into the back of them?

Granted there's some tossers on push bikes (and the above mentioned support vehicles - one I met parked ... PARKED ... on a tight bend in wales) but theres ways to reduce the risks..

  6. Clipped two of them mid swerve

  7. ok, fairing received and fitted. all good. fella come up with the goods

  8. Let me understand this as a motorcyclist and a pedal cyclist, your customer came round a corner at 50mph, so I am assuming it was a fairly open corner with good visibility ? and again I am assuming the cyclists were heading in the same direction ? yet he didn't have time to slow down ( or couldn't be arsed to ) and your blaming the cyclists ?

  9. I was out on the Guzzi yesterday what an absolutely blinder of a day.

Anyway on the old part of the Lochside road (Loch Lomond) not far out of Tarbet, the road is really treacherous, blind bends short straights, bends with changing radius etc:, Its also quite heavily used by trucks and tour buses which are not hanging around and frequently come across onto the wrong side when negotiating the tight curves.

There are at least 10 cyclists, the head down lycra brigade, riding 3 abreast taking up the whole of the road (well 1/2 in effect) queue of about 5 cars with me at the tail, took ages to get by and only then because we came across a short couple of straights.

Unbe-fukin-leivable I was speechless at their lack of consideration.

  15. Aye but you miss the Inverlochy section of the A82 that is just one of the most fantastic pieces of Tarmac around. Mind the Rest road to Arrochar is good too I'll give you that.

Nearly made it to see you yesterday but I chickened out at Connel as nearly every biker I came across was heading to Oban, which can be a bloody car park at the best of times.

So I just sat with a coffee watching the end of the Falls of Lora Ebb tide always great to watch.

Got some video, no antics just slow bad riding but the scenery was sublime, need to edit a bit (to take out the worse bits of my pathetic riding).

  16. At such a low speed, they should be single file going round blind corners so their danger from cars is lessened. He'd have then had room to miss them. Both have some blame but in my mind the drivers is less than the cyclists.

If you broke down just around a blind corner, common sense means you put a portable hazard sign out or stand and warn drivers because you know you're a hazard that cars will not see. They're the same, they're a hazard hiding round a blind corner with no warning.

  17. 20mph limits really grate on me. I need the clutch for that kind of speed and in a world where modern vehicles can stop damn quicker than they could when limits were previously set; dropping the limits to 20mph takes the pressure off pedestrians to actually take care.

  18. 20 mph speed limits are a fecking mare on my Panigale, it takes so much concentration to keep it at around 20 lol

  19. yip, that last 6mls on top of the 90 you have just done is a killer. noted. gob in yer coffee next time. :Angelic::smile:

  20. I live in an area with roads and lay-bys that are a mecca for drivers, day trippers, cyclists, motorcyclists, walkers, dog walkers, doggers :Wideyed:, dope smokers :Cigar: and the rest... when the motorway is jammed you can add in everyone trying to skirt around the edges.
The roads are great sometimes, sometimes not. I use them in car and on bikes and just accept that its a popular slice of the world that everyone wants to enjoy. The people that have taken to fly tipping in the lay bys though..... :Rage::punch::punch::punch:
