Bike Accident Mr. Air Con

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by AirCon, Aug 19, 2015.

  1. There are more visitors to London than anywhere else in the world, apparently. About 18.5 million of them dropping some £22bn.
Maybe the fact that no one speaks English is what they like about the place. Home from home, innit?

  2. I've just been told my external leg frame is staying on until next year! :Arghh:

Now waiting on the physioterrorist team to assess my progress on my wrist/hand/fingers and then to fit a new plastic wrist / hand cast as the swelling has gone. My current cast is way too loose.
    :Mooning:

Then its on for a heart scan to see what (if any) damage the bacteria in the blood has done. This isn't pleasant as they push really hard with an oversized TV remote all over your gel covered chest and side. This actually bruises and is sore for several days.

Lastly we have our PICC line serviced.
You have to have a very secure and trusting marriage to allow your beloved  to administer drugs straight to your heart.

  5. Well we're are progressing.
Physioterrorist (Joelle) has fitted me with a new cast. Hand and fingers are now set, so we can now start a vigorous exercise regime. I've already been typing since the accident and on a pc since 7th September.
She was amazed how much finger moving I could do. She says she wants to see a fist next time I'm in and since I always try to accommodate I'd better leave Emma at home that day!

She explained the the wires that hold my hand bones are wired through my wrist. This explains why I can bend the wrist. She told me that I should wear the support at all times to prevent wrist movement...Something we could consider for @Exige to prevent some of that palm action?

The heart scan proved fine and wasn't as painfull as last time, as I think the ribs have healed.

Now just waiting for my PICC line service and then on to home.

  7. The wife was prescribed truckloads of tramadol. Great stuff when I used to swipe it for my back and we still have a bit kicking around the house.

  12. Good news

The Picc line comes out next week. The six weeks of intravenous drugs come's to an end on Monday. We then switch to oral antibiotics. That will take some stress off nurse Emma.

  13. Some of the hidden costs of a bike off....
Black cab home Friday 15.25 to Hatton Cross arrived 16.42. Cost £85:eek::eek::Bored:
Note all the local cabbies were busy.

  14. Some years ago whilst recovering from a sports injury-induced broken leg, I asked Mrs H to help with the oral pain relief.

At least the resulting black eye & thick ear took some of my attention away from my gammy leg.

  17. Keep a record of costs associated with hospital visits - in fact, any costs relating to the collision. If you end up being able to claim any kind of compensation, you will want to to at least cover your costs.
