My two ongoing projects will be finished soon and not being able to face a winter of twiddling my thumbs, I was idly browsing fleabay for ideas when I came across this..... Needs TLC but it all sounds like the sort of thing that can be done in a shed (more likely, my living room, girlfriend/Grommit permitting) or taken off and sent away to a specialist.
I hardly ever drink so I have no real excuse other than browsing yummy pictures like that one posted by OldJock. I quite like the idea of a sidecar, although my reputation for eccentricity would most likely cross the tipping point into genuine concern for my mental health. I'd probably have my friends saying things like "Well.....he HAS been under a lot of strain lately" I canvassed the idea with my girlfriend and she's game, although because she's only tiny (5ft) she did say people would probably wonder why I was riding around with an empty sidecar.
Do you counter steer with a sidecar or do you have to apply pressure through the handlebars in the opposite way to a solo ?
Stop. It. It's certainly a beauty though *edit: I've seen pics of that bike on the Internet but only just read the write up in the link you posted. It only weighs 125kg! As a bit of a freak for stripping bikes right back to basics, I'm seriously impressed by that. I wonder what my 900ss bobber weighs in at, given that all the fairings, lights, brackets, clocks, most of the subframe and half the exhaust system have gone in the skip?
Maybe you counter steer on two wheels and (insert opposite of counter steer here) when you are on three wheels, then there are left hand and righthand corners. Good luck with that.
