  1. DO the standard Abba stands fit on the 1198? or would I need a new type?

    Cheers guys
    Sorry for stupid questions lol

  2. I have used mine but with the footrest bolt kit; works well. In fact I used it to program the GiPro after the paddock stand nearly ripped itself apart. :pompus:

  3. Yes, I'm using the same one I used on my ape

  4. We had a set of adapters that we used for the 748 and 848 Evo, so yes.

  5. Cheers guys

  6. I got the adaptors for my 1198S but ended up sending them back. It sort of worked, but didn't feel as stable as on other bikes; it also seems incredibly heavy to get the bike up on the stand. Might just be me though. Anyone else have this problem?

  7. I've got an old style one on the 1098, being a 65 kg weakling Yes I find it dam heavy to get up on the stand. That said with the 1098 it's rock solid using either the footpeg adapters or the adapters that install into the swing arm spindle.

I have heard stories on here of then scratching the frame paint, but personally I've not had any issue.

With the footpeg adapters they are great for taking the back end to bits and removing the swingarm

  8. Can anyone post a pic of the abba stand fittings please, my aprilia ones don't seem to fit in, so might machine them down rather than buy new ones at 30 quid
    cheers

  9. I made adaptors out 1/2" sockets, filed down in pillar drill with brass bar soldered in on gas stove.

  10. yes, you would have thought by now they could have come up with adaptors with a protective sleeve just for this - am faced with the same problem with a painted frame now so will get some made.
