Well when someone swears and calls you for no good reason and wont apologise then perhaps you may understand. But 10/10 for your loyalty.
Its not about loyalty, although I am, its about fairness. He can be a right knob, I can be a right knob, you can be a right knob. Guess what, we all can. I'm assuming its because he called YOU a name thats got your arse out of shape? You're a man of an age, and accepted a thankless task of modding a forum, surely you have learned to deal with shit like that by now?
Paul, you should know that I welcome anyone and everyone that has something to contribute to the forum, whatever form that may be in. Mostly the stuff that goes on on here is banter and good natured. Sometimes it does need to be reigned in I'm sure you will agree. What I (nor Rob) cannot and will not accept is when someone just fancies a fight or to troll just for the hell of it. This is what happened, despite what you may or may not have been told. Several opportunities were given for apologies to be made. Those opportunities were rejected, and rejected in a "venomous" tone. I'm sorry you don't like it and don't agree with my decision but as far as I'm concerned that's the end of it.
Its my ball, and my mums called me for dinner New Zealand is a lovely place, full of lovely people. Scenery better than anywhere else on this earth, varying from the frozen lands of the south to the tropical beaches north. Would happily live there.
There are aspects of this which are rather difficult to follow or make any sense of. People mainly post on a forum to be informative, helpful, friendly, and sometimes funny. They can also be controversial, provocative, and contrarian. Sometimes they can post things which somebody else finds insulting or offensive. All this is fair enough, in terms of the exercise of free speech. Then there are people who cross a boundary and make posts which are vile, poisonous, threatening, abusive, or downright illegal. Such people have to be banned from the forum, in order to leave others a safe space in which to interact and debate. All this is clear. The bit I don't understand is: why on earth would someone who has been banned from a forum want to keep returning to it? It's like trying to rejoin a club when the other members don't want you as a member. Why go where you are plainly not welcome? And if someone (inexplicably) tries to do this, why would they be accepted for a moment? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds rather like a psychiatric issue to me.
Perhaps it's like going in your favorite bar even though there is a certain bunch you dont like. You get on with it, and put up with the nobs. Then there is their point of view, they think your a nob too. And come in for a pint and chat with mates and just get on with it. Occasionally a bit of banter gets naughty, but being adults you just accept that in general it doesnt really matter. Dont upset the bouncers though :Banghead:
