1100 Evo Tuning Options

  1. What can I do to my engine? Am I right from my readings that the DP CAM is already in there?

I have seen some graphs where people are getting up to 100bhp at the back wheel. Mine makes 89.....so what can I do?

  2. Edit, I just went to check the graph, it makes 91

  3. My 1100evo makes 90hp at the back wheel with Termi exhaust and Rexxer remap. From what I've read, to get more is probably more trouble (and money) than it's worth. I think if I really wanted more I would probably p\x for a 1200S but for the type of roads I like (back roads of Derbyshire), more horsepower is really not any help.

  4. Yes I am at the same stage as you, DP exhaust and remap by Chris at CJS in Bristol. I have the 1100 motor in a supersport so he was able to get me 91bhp. I think it is the down pipes that gave me the advantage.

I know what you mean about the power being enough. It is just that I took the bike to the Nurburgring in May and it was not enough to get past the cars with enough distance on the straights to give me time in the corners without them troubling me. And it was terrifying being dwarfed by the place. I remember a souped up E30 passing me on the inside of a corner, rattling like hell and drifting wide.

Also it is coming up to winter and I can't help myself on the tweaking!

  5. I have 100hp on my evo, I will dig out a graph later. Sc project pipe and tune. Just put a 14 sprocket on the front and that has made a difference

  6. Is the exhaust a full system? I guess I should do the manifolds on mine too but cannot imagine 9bhp increase if I do

  7. Apologies, it's 90, not 100 as I said, I was certain it was but just checked - sorry

  8. Ah so we are about the same then! At the moment I am going for lightness. Seems cheaper than porting and polishing the head and sticking different Pistons in there etc

  9. A 14 tooth sprocket seems to be the best value performance upgrade in terms of acceleration, and helps with smoother running around town. No effect on the speedo either. Worth a try before spending £££ on anything else.

  10. I have one of those

  11. My next idea is a lighter flywheel, see if that improves things, just got to talk to my mate about fitting, relatively cheap approx £90, I need to do the belts over winter so might take casings off and get them painted over at same time

  12. How much lighter? Do you not worry about stalling at low revs?

  13. Not really, there's a few done it on the Ukmoc, tempted to try and see.
They are talking about dropping to 500 g about a 1/3 off weight

  14. I added 900g to a gasgas 200 last year on the advice that it would feel like it had more torque. But it just felt exactly like what it actually did, IE spun slower to get to the top of its Rev range. It came off after one ride.

  15. Rather than get more top end, how about finding out how to increase the torque and mid range???

  16. I'm not after top end, I want it to get there quicker [emoji106]

  17. That is simples .

Firstly, 14th front sprocket is the cheapest and easiest.

Secondly, termi's, less restrictive air filter and filter lid, DP ecu. (Or other make exhaust, race filter and modded air fliter lid and custom re map)

    Third, Rexxerr flash.

And finaly, get the suspension sorted

  18. Definitely! I got my suspension set up by KIES in Atherton (for my 70kg). Better on bumpy corners, more stable and more comfortable - result!

  19. My 1100evo managed 96hp at the back wheel. I have got Termi cans and ECU, I've also added the WASP tuning kit which I've found out on the rolling road it didn't make any difference to Horse power, but the cone filters does make a difference on the induction noise which you'll like, you'll be better off playing around with the timing than fuelling for more HP

  20. What airbox/filter config you got?
My 2012 1100 evo made 95rwhp & 74 nm at CJS, with std cans, decat & MWR lid/filter.
Dial the cams in too, makes it loverly all over
