Helmets?

  1. I got the agv s4(think thats what its called) white/red with sun visor for xmas last yr and fikin hate it!! The high pitched whistling at anythig above 40 is painfull, the visor steams up constantlly and its bloody sore with specs on.wore it about 6 times and dumped it at the back of a cupboard.put of agv big style so stickin to shoei

    Do i need to replace my helmet if dropped " ?

    Ans the edited version :) manufactures recommend a change of helmet if dropped form "Significant" height ...... over a meter .

    How long will a helmet last ?

    Seven years after it's manufacture , the eps inner will be about 20% harder explaines Stuart Millington of AGV and ARAI distributers MotoDirect. Heat and bacteria from your head will harden the Eps as well, so the more miles the sooner it will become to tough. However a normal rider would get five years from a lid but a high mile rider should change every year !

Had a HJC I think it was (got from Nog - anyone heard from him or did Archer get his money back?), about 4 years, 18k miles, 4 crashes and after it wore thru the outer shell so wouldn't pass scrut I binned it. Helmets are tougher than a simple drop off you bars and designed to reduce impact when worn

  6. Bradders, haven't heard from Nog, assume he's still recovering. Have just filled in the forms from the card company to get my money back. Just hope he's ok and back on here soon. Thanks for remembering.

  12. No that's the right size but I think Dave has just bought one and I didn't want to copy him. I'd quite like a Corse one and I did see one I liked but it's been sold and I can't find another :rolleyes:

    I do like the AGV Ducati Rossi Elements helmet. And they're going for a decent price too, but I need to try one to see if I have an AGV shaped head. Think that's a job for Saturday :upyeah:
