Seven weeks ownership have not been fun filled. 2 of those weeks the stupid thing has been in the garage as it's had issues. Losing it for a further 3/4 weeks as the ECU has gone on a bender. Plus it's not as fun as the 750ss.
As someone who has to spend all day riding for a living I can fully understand why you have opted to go down the il4 route, and you have redeemed yourself by admitting you will be returning to the fold next year!!! Nah seriously, it's a wise choice given what you do for a living and if I were in your shoes ( or should that be boots?) I wouldn't be riding a Duke every day.
My 998S eat it's ECU so I got Dave Wood Racing to put a Nemesis on it. WOW what a difference made me love it even more. No Rice Burner mod ever made me feel that way.
To be honest my history starts with a RS125 , thundercat,99 r1,996,zx6r b1h, 996,04 R1,Mille ,996S,gixxer6,848, and now this ... Looks no different, handling, better , power... Are you kidding???, ride, no different, sound track .... Missing .....it's a bike !!!! As for special every bike I've had has Been special ( needs) the 99r1 in particular should of been sectioned along with the kwak b1h ......best one????? My Mille !!!! Fav one..... My 996S ..... Best/Fav one today ...... A black 07 R1 ... Because it does what I need/want it to do ......... I won't mention the gpz500 or xj600 , I'd rather eat my own shit than bring back evil memories of bikes that should never been made lol , I miss my thundercat too ... My first grown up pull up training pants bike.

i have gone the jap route 11 plate gsxr 750 very very nice BUT, I hasten to add I have kept my 996 ...no way i can be without a Ducati while the gixxer is sublime, smooth and pretty much pint and go it doesn't really get any attention unlike the roaring 996 so best of both world is the way ahead
