  1. 6 Days until I get my first Ducati :upyeah: not long now :)

I hope it's not raining when it arrives. I want to take a good look round it for damage and I don't wan't to get it covered in crap the first time I take it out.

I bought this one to look at in the garage and take out on nice days :Shamefullyembarrased:

  2. yip. a little trick body shops can use when handing over cars after repair is to give it a hose off.
it will be fine btw. enjoy.

  4. Not got it yet! All these sunny days :( 5 days to go.
    It's like being a kid a Christmas.

  5. I hope for your sake your luck isn't like mine.

It nearly always rains for me ha ha!

  6. Hang on in there won't be long

  7. 4 days. I just sent the insurance details through to the shop...

I need to find out if you can still tax something at the same time you send the log book away in your name at the post office? The V5 won't be in my name when the bike is delivered..

  9. what about the tax? the law keeps changing, I'm a bit behind.

Can you still fill in the V5 and tax it the same time you send it off at the post office.

  10. Think so. When I picked mine up the other week, I had to tax it before leaving the shop and didn't send the log book off until the following day.

  11. Yes you can tax it online as long as it's insured and mot'd(and both on the database) You just need the new keeper v5 supplement doc ref no (15 or 16 characters)

  12. I know the feeling.... Enjoy.
Tax wise, to avoid confusion tax it online on the day of sale. You'll get a receipt and acknowledgement that the bike is taxed emailed to you immediately. Print that off and keep it with your docs. That's proof of tax and serves as a record of the due date for next year now that there's no tax disc to remind you.
If you're buying from a dealer they'll be more than happy to take you through the online procedure there and then the moment you've signed the docs. Its in their interests to see that bike is taxed by the new owner before it leaves their premises. Saves any comeback.
